What Can You Take Into The Park

If you were to pack a backpack for each day, what would you take with you? My kids are now 12 and 9 and I used to always take a change of clothes for each of them. There older now and if I was going to hassle with a backpack I wonder what kinds of things would you take. I usually have two cameras, wallet, cell, autograph books, etc. and it sure makes it nice to just take everything in one pack.

What is Disney's policy (post 9/11) on taking things into the park now anyway?

Post 9/11 they now do a bag search at the entrance to every park wher ethey just look in your bag and ask you to unzip all the parts. It just takes a few min to get through the line.

You can take most anything into the parks as long as it is reasonable. Long knives are a no-no, but pocket knives seem to pass. Food also seems acceptable as long as you don't empty out the refrigerator. We have seen people stopped when they tried to bring a cooler that was huge. Otherwise they don't seem to care.

I stopped carrying a family pack about seven years ago. My son is 12 and he carries his own jacket, sweatshirt, etc. All I carry is the tickets, fast passes as we get them, and sometimes a camera. Have your kids carry there own autograph books, etc.

The only things they're very concerned about are glass bottles and hard-sided coolers. Of course, obvious flaunting of violations of their policy against bring meals into the park would probably get some attention as well, but a reasonable amount of snacks and drinks won't raise an eye, nor would changes of clothing and other personal items.
