I feel like I have seen this before so if it exists, please direct me to that thread. We just found out that we are expecting baby #3 and will be at the end of the 1st trimester when visiting in April.

I would love to know if there is a list of rides at each park that are a definite skip. We are planning to go to all 4 parks and I have never been to DHS or Animal Kingdom so I am not sure what to expect. I seem to remember conversations awhile back about the safari ride in Animal Kingdom, does anyone know more about this?

TIA,
April

I went when I was about the same stage you will be. I rode the safari ride, but that is one you may want to think about. Don't do Dinosaur (very rough and bumpy), I did it but quickly realize that one should be skipped. Also Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, and Kali River rapids are out.
DHS - Definatly skip Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster.
Epcot - I did test track and the mild side of Mission Space, both of those are one's that I'd suggest you give careful consideration to. Soarin was ok though.
Magic Kingdom - skip any coaster and splash mountain. I probably wouldn't do the Indy cars either, unless your husband was in the car behind you to keep anyone from bumping you.
When I went, I spent alot of time going to other rides getting fast passes for everyone else while they rode rides. It was actually kind of nice, I got to spend plenty of time with them in between them riding, but had plenty of time alone to relax, shop, and put my feet up.

I was at Disney Land when I was about at your stage and I rode a Lady Bug ride similar to Mad Tea Party... I wasn't sure that I should have rode that:sad2:
So, you may want to stay away from Mad Tea Party. As a general rule of thumb, you are probably able to ride the rides that the smallest kiddos can ride since none of them spin much, go too fast, or are not bumpy.

I was just thinking about this the other day (not preggers, just thinking about oopsies :rolleyes1 ) ANYWAY I came to the conclusion that if I would bring a baby on it, I could go on it preggers.

I'm also going and will be 24 weeks pregnant. I was wondering about the Winnie the Pooh ride? I remember bouncing in the Tigger room lol

You can look at the park maps for the attractions with warnings - they are marked with a red triangle on the map and also on a sign at the entrance to the queue.
The wording for the general warning is:
WARNING! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride.

For Epcot here are the attractions with warnings:
  • Mission Space the sign outside the attraction says that pregnant women are advised not the ride both the more tame (green side) and the more wild (orange side)
  • Test Track
For Magic Kingdom:
  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Tomorrowland Indy Speedway
  • Space Mountain
  • Goofy's Barnstormer (this doesn't have a triangle warning sign on the map, but does say that pregnant women should not ride)
For Disney Studio
  • Star Tours
  • Rock N Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror
For Animal Kingdom:
  • Kilimanjaro Safari
  • Kali River Rapids
  • Expedition Everest
  • Primeval Whirl
  • Dinosaur

Soarin' doesn't have any warnings that would affect pregnancy; just heights and possible motion sickness. There are some scents used on the ride (ocean air, oranges, pine) that you may want to be aware of if you are sensitive to smells.

The Safari and Kali River Rapids are listed because you can get unexpected hard bumps and drops during the course of the ride. Some moms late in pregnancy have posted it felt like the baby was using their bladder as a trampoline, so it was not exactly comfortable. Many people suggest that the Safari is less bumpy closer to the front, but it is still bumpy. We sit in the front seat because youngest DD needs to stay in her wheelchair; we still get bounced around a lot. It all depends on which ruts your ride car hits. I have also ridden it without DD, and have found the farther back seats are about the same (unless you are talking about the back 1/3 of the tram). Also, the tram is quite far off the ground; in case of a problem with the tram, you will need to get off of the tram without aid of the boarding area which raises you closer to the level of the seats.

The main drop is the reason for not riding Splash Mountain. The big drop takes you down at a very extreme angle at a high rate of speed (I think you get to 40 mph). At the bottom, your ride car stops abruptly. That sort of combination of fast speed drop at an extreme angle and then abrupt stop can theoretically cause placental abruption - where the placenta actually peels away from the wall of the uterus. That's the main reason for warnings at Splash Mountain.
For rides like Dinosaur, Star Tours, Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain you are not moving that fast, but experience sudden changes of direction that jerk you around a lot.

Wow, thank you all so much for your help. This is great info!!! Glad to hear that others can use it too.

I didn't see this mentioned (but I may have missed it!)

Toy Story Mania may affect you if you have a bigger belly. It closes pretty snuggly then whips you around a bit.

Think anything that doesn't have height restrictions and you are good to go.

I did Toy Story Mania a few weeks ago--and my belly is big and they were kind not to squish me. I rode on it twice that day. I found bracing for the spins to be of a greater concern than the lap bar.

I have ridden Kilamanaro Safari while pregnant before--to me they have the disclaimer for liabilty reasons. I did ride it though towards teh end of my pregnancy.

Winnie the Pooh is fine for the mommy who asked.

I have also ridden Kilimanjaro Safari pregnant and I was fine. I agree with all the other rides because they are roller coasters but Kilimanjaro is bumpy and jerky so I believe that is why it's listed.

I also road Soarin with no issues. I actually really enjoyed the ride.
