What can you expect on New Years?

My sister is thinking of taking her kids on the 3 day cruise next year and it starts on New Years Eve. Will there be anything special going on that night? She was just wondering. Told her I'd find out.

I was wondering the same thing, b/c we were looking at taking the seven day cruise on Dec. 27, 2003.

It's a HUGE party for New Year's Eve. It's a special formal night, black-tie optional... lots of folks wearing tuxedos and fancy dresses. Hats, noisemakers, confetti, champagne... the works. There were quite a few trip reports about New Year's Eve on the Wonder last year as Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter took their extended family on the Wonder as a Christmas gift.

Dh and I were onboard the wonder for NYE last year. It was the most fabulous time!
Like Dave said, parties galore! There was a huge party in the atrium with a balloon drop and music. There was a family party in Studio Sea, and adult party in Wavebands, and a lot more. Each party was simulcast on these huge screens(like we were in Times Square or something) and we got to see all the other parties going on. It was awesome.
Wavebands kept going until we (among the last 6 people) gave in at 6am. LOL!!!

We each got a commemorative champagne glass, a lithograph and hats, noisemakers, etc.
I highly recommend this trip!!!! It was awesome. There is a special dinner that night and everything is so festive. The next day there was a football event in the ESPN club with food and the college games.

Kids were in on it too, with the family parties and events. Tons of fun!!
