What can we do on our last day?

Sort of theme park related / sort of resort related. If our flight is at 8 pm, ME should be around 5? How much can we do in a theme park? (Coming from yacht club).

Alternatively - if we wanted to spend our last day hanging by the pool before leaving - are there any facilities where we could shower / change before going home? We are staying at Yacht Club and I really want to make sure we get in some good pool time at SAB.

Thinking of adding a day (if there is room) - and spending our last day at the pool instead of MK (current plan with 8 pm flight) - but I don't know if that is feasible?

If we add a day, would probably take an earlier flight. Maybe 6 pm instead of 8, so I imagine we'd be leaving by 3?

Appreciate any input!

(And please move if this is the wrong forum to ask in). Thanks!

There is a lot of time to explore the parks before 5:00 PM and adding a day is only about $10/person if you are past four days.

Disney resorts usually offer late checkout if you so choose. I believe it is dependent on capacity.

Personally, I would go to the parks. If rope drop is at 9:00, there is a lot of time to see things.

I'm not concerned about the cost to add days. But I would love to have some time to just be at the pool. Just trying to figure out if we planned that for the last day - would we be able to shower and change before our flight?

You can ask to check out around 1pm. I did that one year and stayed at MK until 2am the night before. They do it depending on capacity. I would ask at check in. That way you can get up eat breakfast and head to the pool then back to the room to shower and change.

Alternatives to going to the parks could be DTD or resort exploring. You can check out other resorts, do some shopping and then explore your options for a late lunch/early dinner.

Wasn't sure if we could shower in the spa. I will have 5 and 7 year old with me too, so I'm guessing they couldn't go in. I don't think DH will agree to just hang at the pool without the promise of a definite shower - and I don't know that a 1 pm checkout would be late enough for that.

If we take the 8 pm flight, definitely planning a park day. Was just considering adding a day for pool time, but would probably just do that on the last day (if I knew for sure there was a place to shower and change).

If had a departure onThe Magical Express at 5 p.m. From the Yacht Club, I would spend some time in the morning swimming, and then go up to the room and take a shower before checking out.if you could obtain a 1 p.m. Checkout, then you could walk over to Epcot around 1 p.m. And have lunch and catch a few rides

We currently have an 8 pm flight which wouldn't even require us to add a day. (Unless we go to a park the day we arrive). Thinking of adding another night - but mostly for pool purposes :). I really want to make sure to build in time for SAB - but I guess if we add a day, we could build in more pool time during the week and use the last (extra) day for parks.

Total first world problem, I know :). We currently are there 5 nights / thinking about making it 6 just b/c I think it will be a long time before we do this again.

This! We have done it lots of times; we just have bell services hold our luggage.

Totally cool with this.

I like this idea. Though if we add a day, we may have a 3 pm ME instead. Still allows some time.

With the 5 pm ME, was planning to make the entire day a MK day. Decisions, decisions :)

Thanks all.

And is 3 hours before flight a reasonable expectation for ME?

For what it's worth, this past Saturday - which was rainy - we managed to wake up, shower, pack up, check out, make it to MK by 9:20am (there was an accident along the way slowing us down), ride Peter Pan (40 min), Haunted Mansion (FP), A&E Meet and Greet (FP), Mickey's Philharmagic (15 min), 7DMT (FP -- ride broke down/escorted out of line), it's a small world (10 min), eat at CHH plus shop a bit at Momento Mori and back in Belle's Village before seeing the Rainy Day Cavalcade on our way back to the buses. We even fit in a super-fast bite to eat at Landscape of Flavors before picking up our bags and hopping on the 4:45pm ME bus for our 7:30pm flight. That's 5-6 "attractions" and at least one good meal in bad weather. We considered that well worth adding $10 per person for the day instead of waiting around the resort. However, to each their own and I hope you're able to decide on what's best for your family. 3 hours, I believe, is the minimum they tell you to expect for the ME to pull out with you on it on your way to the airport.

We hit AK from 9-NOON and takeoff to the airport... You have much more time and MK seems perfect...

Thanks all! I'm comfortable adding park time - but, if we hot the works hard during the main part of our trip and have neglected the pool - I want to build in some pool time. I think it will be tougher for us it leave the park during the day for pool time. (But maybe not if we know we have more park time at the dend).

Guess I'd better start by calling and seeing if we can extend our reservation :)

We stayed at BC last year and they no longer allow you to use the spa to shower after checking out. After a bit of persuasion they let me DH and DD5 use it, but I wouldn't count on it.

My flight back home was at 8:40pm in January. Our DME pick up time was 4:45pm from AoA. We hit MK at 9am, did a few rides, and had our fp+ set for 10, 11, and 12, had some lunch, hit a few more rides, browsed the shops, had one more awesome yummy treat each, then caught the bus back to the resort at 3pm. Was a really great last day. :)

We had a 7:30PM flight once and actually did 3 parks prior to leaving. Started at rope drop during Early EMH at DHS, did TSM, TT, Beauty & Beast show and FP for RR, left took boat to EPCOT, did Soarin, Space Ship Earth and Mission Space, left took a bus to AK, did Everest, Dinosaur, tough to be a bug and left, took bus back to the Poly. We had a limo though, which only required us to be there 2 hours and 15 min. prior to heading to MCO plus we just had quick snacks along the way. Lots you can do. Just about anything you want to.

Looks like we'll be sticking with our 8 pm flight .... As the only way we'd leave any earlier was If we added a day, and as of right now, our resort is fully booked! Womp Womp. Thanks for all of the great advice - we'll have lots to try and do on our last day :)

you could ask for check out at 1, pool time in the morning then check out and either go to a park or DTD. we always hit DTD for last minute things we wanted to buy, and we love walking around down there. even when our plane leaves at 5 (magic express at 2) i hit the parks at rope drop or the park with morning extra magic hours for a little bit then head back to the resort for DME. though i heard they were testing that DME could be picked up from DTD now, not sure if thats actually being used yet.
