What can I take into the movies??

yeah pretty much. there are concession stands outside both the walt disney (show) theater and the movie theater. and i wanna say there are cup holders...

i'm a fan of bringing adult beverages wherever i go..... but thats just me! :)

No, that's me too!!!! I would love to bring an adult bev and the cheese plate...just didn't know if this would be allowed....

At a midnight showing of one of the Pirates movies in the Walt Disney Theatre, we brought pillows and blankets.

Awesome!!! But if I did that, I'd be asleep!! I can sleep anywhere, anytime!!!

Pretty much anything they offer on the ship. We brought some desserts from Palo Brunch to a movie.

I don't think food is allowed in the Walt Disney Theater, just drinks. There are cup holders. We tried to bring some chicken fingers in and were told not to do that. I think food is allowed in the Buena Vista Theater. We brought some pizza in there and nothing was said. Drinks were also allowed in there. It also has cup holders.

They sell popcorn, candy and other various snacks outside the WD Theatre so some food is allowed.....not sure if they want food from other places in there but I have never seen anyone turned away.

Good point! Forgot about the concession stand outside. They did turn us away with our chicken fingers from Deck 11 though.

We've taken drinks and candy we brought from home. Some may laugh but after several days in the sun I get really cold in the theaters sooooo I do bring a blanket for a late evening movie. :lovestruc

When I was on the Magic last year. A group kids ran up deck 9 and came back with ice cream. It was quiet the night I went. No one really was watching the comings and goings. There was one CM selling snacks, but later in the movie, no one was outside the theatre.

I can not wait to take in a movie on the Dream!!!:thumbsup2

Do they always have a midnight showing?
For the longer cruises the midnight showing is pretty much Thursday night at 12:01am for the opening of the latest Disney movie. Check the national theater release schedule to see if a Disney movie is being released during your cruise. On our 7 day MR they released a schedule of movies for the first half of the week with no mention of the newest Disney movie (Mars needs Moms) and CM said they didn't know yet if they would be showing it. :rolleyes1
Sure enough when the second half schedule was released the newest movie premiered on Thursday night at 12:01am and played several times after that.

NOTE: No matter how much we fed our DS7 before the movie, much to our dismay, he always really really wanted extras for the movie like candy or popcorn and DCL has figured this out, hence they sell those extras before just about every movie/show. Bring something before you go.

I think you can take just about anything you want in there, but please remember to clean up after yourselves at the end of the movie.

Please and thank you!! ;)

I tried to bring a plate with cheese and fruit on which was delivered to our cabin from room service and I was turned away from the Walt Disney Theatre by a CM.

It does seem that you can bring pretty much anything into the Buena Vista theatre. I wonder why the policies would be different.

Not ANYTHING, the last time I got kicked out of a theater for bringing my own food. My argument was that the concession prices were outrageous, besides, I hadnt had a BBQ in a long time :lmao:

This seems to vary from one cruise to another and sometimes from one CM to another.

Sometimes we've been allowed to bring in anything at the BV--like a hamburger or chicken fingers. On a different cruise, we were told that we could bring in "Snacks but not food." Whatever that means...in that case, it was no chicken fingers, but ice cream and cookies were OK.

As above, they sell popcorn and candy as well as beverages at ridiculous prices outside both the WD and BV theaters, but on some cruises we've been stopped at the door and told no food in the WD.

We've never been stopped with beverages--that seems to be a universal OK.

As others have suggested, cleaning up after yourself is a good thing and may impact what they allow in!

Last week on the Wonder we were told we couldn't bring ice cream into the WD theater, the CM watched us to make sure we either ate or threw it away before entering. Had no problem with snacks and drinks though.

There was no one monitoring the BV theater, we took whatever we wanted into that one. The lack of cup holders is disappointing though, the aisles are so narrow that putting your drink on the floor could spell disaster if someone tried to walk by you.
