For the longer cruises the midnight showing is pretty much Thursday night at 12:01am for the opening of the latest Disney movie. Check the national theater release schedule to see if a Disney movie is being released during your cruise. On our 7 day MR they released a schedule of movies for the first half of the week with no mention of the newest Disney movie (Mars needs Moms) and CM said they didn't know yet if they would be showing it.
Sure enough when the second half schedule was released the newest movie premiered on Thursday night at 12:01am and played several times after that.
NOTE: No matter how much we fed our DS7 before the movie, much to our dismay, he always really really wanted extras for the movie like candy or popcorn and DCL has figured this out, hence they sell those extras before just about every movie/show. Bring something before you go.
The new POTC movie is being released the Friday AFTER our cruise....I wonder if there's any way they'd show it to us early on the ship, or are they stringent about release dates?
They should make the viewings of the POTC movies fun like the old Rocky Horror Picture Shows. The audience can dress up like characters and do silly things like yell ARRRRRRRRRRRH every time Johnny Depp kisses a girl or something!
