What can I expect for around $5200?

I have a secret savings account just for Disney trips. I’m hoping to have $7000CAD or $5200.00USD saved up by next April possibly May. What can I expect to spend? That’s my budget for resort and park passes.
We are 2 adults, 6 and 7 year old.
I prefer to stay at mod-value (although those prices don’t feel value anymore) we want to spend at least 6 or 7 days at the parks and a few days in between for pool and rest days. Arrival and departure days don’t count as park days. We don’t want park hoppers. Memory maker is a must.
Is this doable? What should I expect with that kind of budget?

I think those in Canada can possibly purchase the UK tickets? But tickets will still be pricey...

Honestly, it just doesn’t make sense anymore to try to make Disney resorts work for that length of time.

Since you’re talking about at least 10 days, even at the lowest budget rates you’re at your budget limit. And I don’t hate the budgets, but the rooms are mostly very, very small. The only perk to being on property are the busses (not a small perk) and 30 minutes in the morning in the parks. I wouldn’t do it with two little ones. I’d look at off property hotels that have shuttles and fun stuff to do at your resort.

Before you consider off site make sure you check that resorts shuttle service. Some resorts charge. Some make you book your spot. Most will have drop off spots in the middle of the parking lots.

Just for giggles I went to the WDW website and selected Sept 13-23 so 10 nights, typically during a quieter time of year. I selected the All star sports resort, 6 day base ticket and Memory Maker. The total was 4600.18 Now this was for 2023 and I'm not sure what time of year you are looking at but it's a starting point.

As others have noted, we will have a better idea about 2024 pricing on May 31. As of now, as long as you aren't going during a holiday period, I think you have a good chance of at least getting a value resort for 10 nights, with the tickets you would like, coming in around your price point. Perhaps make a list of the resorts/room categories, you would be interested in and then price it out on May 31 - if you go in the value direction, perhaps consider a room at Pop to get you on the Skyliner route - if there is wiggle room in the budget, go for a preferred room. To book your package, you will only need to put down a $200 deposit and you can also see if discounts come out which may enable you to save some money or even upgrade your room/resort and stay within your budget.

Just plugging in a random set of 10 nights in November for your family size with 7 day park tickets (no hoppers), which would give you two rest days, and memory maker at Pop Century in a standard room is $5,527.66

Not sure why you can’t play around on the website and do this too?

Price out your tickets now, then add a 10% buffer. Price out your hotel now--no discounts--then add 13% hotel tax...in the hopes that the yearly price increases and available discounts cancel each other out. Tickets will probably be between $2000-$2500. A value resort or CS with a discount will most likely fit in your budget.

If your driving keep in mind that parking is now free for all Disney properties. So you can subtract 30 dollars a day for parking if your staying on property(not much I know). My philosophy on Disney hotels is I want to spend all my time in the Parks. All I need at night is a shower, early entry perk, and a bed so I always go for the Value resorts(all star Sports is usually the cheapest.

You will either be in value or off-site. Depends on what you prioritize. There are a whole lot of nice hotels in Orlando that are much cheaper than Disney.

I might try to rent DVC points for a couple nights. Like if you did just Monday and Tuesday night, you would get access to the late hours on Monday and Weds, and you'd get early access Mon, Tues, and Weds. You could also do this by staying at Swan or Dolphin (count as deluxe). They can swing wildly in price, especially booked far in advance.

I went looking for decent off site hotels cheaper than Disney and when comparing all costs involved (transportation and room) and Disney value resorts came out ahead.

Hotels have gone up...this used to be easy to do and I didn't find it to be the same as pre-Covid times.

My recommendation is to always do the Disney math.

Maybe. A lot of them have shuttles. You have to get to Disney from the airport too.

Dolphin and Swan are closer than most Disney hotels.

yes and keep in mind parking is free for hotel guests now, so thats 30 a day if you have a car you can take off disney hotel bill

I would look at renting DVC points. A studio at Saratoga or Old Key West resort might be doable for 8 - 10 nights for around $3K USD. Its definitely close quarters in the studios but we've done them with 2 adults and 3 kids (1 an infant). With 6 or 7 day regular park tickets, you may just squeak by on that budget.
