What can a 5 year old ride?

Ok i'm going in October 2010 when DD turns 5, now shes tall for her age now but what rides will she be able to do..

Tower Of Terror?

At 40" they can do lots of big rides-Splash, BTMR, TOT
At 44" they can do Space Mountain

Expedition Everest is higher 48"-I think.

Somewhere I saw a webpage where you can put your child's height in and then it tells you what they can't ride.

Your daughter should be able to go on most rides.

It will just depend on how tall your DD is and if she is willing to go on those rides that she is tall enough to ride.

Depending on how tall she is...my DDs were tall at that age and were able to do all but Primevil Whirl and RnRcoaster(they are 48").

Lydia is 5 and pretty tall. The only thing she couldn't go on was Rock N Rollercoaster and Primeval Whirl too. Although, had she been wearing her tennis shoes instead of her Crocs, I think she would have made it on both. Although, I wouldn't have let her do RNR at 5.

There are LOTS of rides for a 5 yr old to ride that don't have height restrictions. Plus there are lots of activities and shows as well. I look at it this way. It leaves us something new to look forward to for the next visit as well as giving us a reason for another trip! Have a great time!

Actually, my DD rode ToT on her 5th birthday. My two 4 year old nieces rode it last week.

What she can ride will depend on her height first and her comfort level second. My DD has always been about 95th percentile so at 5, she was only too short for Space Mountain and RnRollercoaster. She rode Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain, and everything else at least once. She was not fearful, didn't mind the dark if she had a hand to hold, and loves coasters especially. This was in 2001, so some of the newer rides weren't around yet. Had she been tall enough, I think she would have ridden RnR but I think the seating arrangement of Space Mountain would have scared me off if not her.

Dallas is about the same and those are the only 2 he can't get on at 5.

My friends just went and their daughter(who is incredibly tiny) rode Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain.. anything she was tall enough for. Now my very talll just turned 6 year old would absolutely die if I put her on TOT.

No, Space Mountain is single file seating and it is a totally dark ride. For this reason, the 4 year olds with us skipped it last week although one of them considered it. The adults were afraid that it would be too scary for her since you really are alone in the dark. Her parents nixed it. It is also a very bumpy, jerky ride.

I've got to say that I am shocked by what people let their kids ride on just because they are tall enough. My perspective is a bit different because my kids are short for their age and are usually ready for rides before they are allowed to go on them. Both of my kids didn't hit 40" until they were 5. While this does have its own issues, I am amazed by people who are trying to get their very young children on these rides or who think it somehow negatively affect their vacation if their kids don't get on. Three year olds don't belong on most thrill rides. My dd was 9 last year and still was not tall enough for Rock and Roll roller coaster. She accepted it and knows that next time she will be tall enough.

I think we will skip Space Mountain then, even if she is tall enough. Did it get redone since I was last there in 2000? I thought it was side by side, or am I confusing it with DL Space Mountain.

I won't be letting my DD ride that ride, too me i just find it darn scary and uncomfortable so i cant imagine what it would feel like for a 5 year old.

Our daughter was 3 weeks shy of her 5th birthday and she rode Tower of Terror probably 10 times She also rode Expedition Everest so much she had it memorized. "We're going to turn left here, Mommy"

She was tall enough for Space Mountain, but we didn't let her ride it. This year we will, and she's begging for RNR since she's tall enough for it. Not sure about that one though.....

DD always asks to go on ToT at Disneyland Paris but i have to keep telling her that shes too small to ride it at the moment.
