Going on my honeymoon... which building should we request? So far, I like the looks of the Casitas..especially at night.

:earsboy:

Looks can be deceiving online. I stayed at the CSR in 2002 and when I was doing my research, my first choice was the Ranchos section, but then I saw more pictures of the Cabanas section and changed my mind. So, when I made the reservation, I requested a room in the cabanas section. I ended up being in the Ranchos section, 9B if I recall correctly. I loved it! It was the best themed section. The section was beautiful in the morning when the I got up to grab a bite to eat in the foodcourt. At night, the lighting was great. I really felt like I was in Mexico. Then again, your preferences might be different than mine. The Ranchos section is the farthest section from the main area, but if you don't mind walking, it's a very nice walk with lots to see. The whole resort is beautiful and I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what section you're in. Have a great time and congrats on being married!

I loved the Casitas. We stayed in building 4, right next to the quiet pool and the exercise/spa area. Can't remember the name. It wasnt' that far from El Centro and it was a beautiful walk through the courtyards, both during the day and at night. We felt very private even though the resort was almost full.

I stayed in the ranchos before and they were fine but I preferred the Casitas. Others love the Cabanas. If you like the looks of one section best, request it. I don't really think you can go wrong.

go for the Ranchos! I was originally a Cabanas fan until I was encouraged to try the Ranchos. The theming is beautiful and more importantly, this section of the resort was QUIET!!. We noticed more noise any time we stayed in either the Cabanas or the Casitas section. For ultimate quiet and access to the big pool ( only a 2 min walk ) request Rancho building 7.

Linda

Guests like the cabanas because of their proximity to the main pool and main building. But casita 3 has the beautiful courtyards and fountains. Casita 3 is still closed to the main building but has a 5 mins (casual pace) walk to the pool.

I noticed on a 360 view on MagicKingdomTravel that some rooms have two windows. They must be on the end. Does anyone know where these are and where to request?

I Love The Pictures Of Casitas Three. Does Casitas Five Have The Same Look To It? Thanks

We like the Cabana section. Our cabana rooms were pretty centrally located between the big pool & El Centro. The cabana quiet pool is very nice & the water was warm. Lying in a hammock after dark with a view of the beautifully lit bridge, El Centro, & Casitas is one of our favorite romantic things at WDW!

If you go for looks, go for the looks. Just remember the lake is fake. You and your spouse will not be allowed in to swim. The hot tub can be crowded or it can be closed late at night. Ranchos is the best for proximity to the big pool. You'll have a great time anywhere if you love each other. :sunny: :love2:

Mention you are honeymooners and you may get a corner room with two windows and a king bed or other free upgrades.

I've requested a room in Casitas 3. We just have a standard room booked - is it possible we'll still get a view of the lake? Does a view of the fountain(s) count as a 'water view"?

I keep looking at the photos, it just look so pretty! :flower:

There are many corner rooms with 2 windows because the corridors are not straight lines. They zig zag back and forth creating many corner rooms.

No, casita 5, being the last casita building before you get to the ranchos is more open. It does have one fountain and courtyard but I think casita 3 has the most.

These pics are casita 5 facing Lago Dorado. So these rooms have a fountain view and lake view.

We just came back from CSR last night. We were in Cabanas 8A - we were given a corner water view room facing the lake - about a 20 feet from a hammock. It was an absolutely ideal location - a 5 minute walk to El Centro, a quicker walk to the pool and a 1 minute walk to the bus stop. We loved CSR - and think the Cabanas section is ideal.

I loved our room - the view outside our door was so beautiful.

I was in Casitas 3 just last week, room 3219. Apparently casita 3 sprawls quite a bit. My side was right near the food court, it was like a 2 minute walk, tops. Very convenient, I loved it, I was in there for breakfast in the morning and then went straight out to bus stop 1, no hassle.

Thanks Buzz - that means if we want a corner room, we have a better chance than I thought.

I like the Cabanas. Central location, sand beach with hammocks and the most beautiful view across the lake of the Casistas.

I prefer to be able to look at the Casistas from a distance than being in them. Also most all of the convention members are places in the Casistas as they are closest to the Convention Center.

second choice would be Ranchos

I have to say, that while I loved the Casitas (and didn't have any problem with too many conventioneers), I believe I would have been happy in any of the sections. My preference was the Casitas as I think they are beautiful then the cabanas, as I had stayed in the Ranchos on a previous trip (and had no problem with them).

I plan on requesting the cabanas next time as I want to try all 3 sections.

You'll be happy no matter what building you stay in. The resort is beautiful, romantic, and relaxing. Think about what you want, make requests, but don't worry.

My one big suggestion which you probably already addressed: if you want a king room, request. We decided to save money and go with a standard room. By the time we went, we had a little extra money and asked if we could get a king room (we were willing to pay). They tried but there was one night during our stay that it wasn't available so we ended up with what we reserved.

Our standard room view was, luckily, not of the parking lot, but of a grassy area with trees and a turn around. Not a perfect view but it didn't bother us at all.

I am in a standard room. If I request a corner room what are my chances of getting it since im in a standard room? Are most of the corner rooms water view? Thanks
