Is there any building I should request at the Poly for a Garden view room? This will be my first stay there since teh 70's and do not know much about the lay out.

Also what is the pool like there?

Thanks Dave

Have you seen tikiman's website? I have been thinking about switching our reservations from POR to Poly too. I found tons of information about the Poly resort on his website. Check it out - I think you'll find the answers to any questions you have about the Poly.
I can't figure our how to post the link, but if you do a search for "tikiman" under "user name", you'll find his profile and also the link to his site. Maybe someone else that is more computer savvy than I am can post the link directly!! Hope that helps!

We just stayed at the Poly this month in Room 3916 in Tokelau. We could see the lagoon, TTC, Space Mountain, and Contemporary (SM and CR view were from one side of balcony; but I was happy because we payed for a garden view and still got to see them). Unfortunately, the room has a door that connects to the next room so we could really hear our noisy neighbors that arrived halfway into our trip. Were given Room 3902 at first, but it looked onto the quiet pool, and we didn't want to face the pool so we moved. We didn't swim because it was too cold for us native Floridians! :D Let me know if I can answer any questions. Here's a link to my recent review:

when we were there last we stayed in rarotonga on the first floor. it
was great, its a very short walk to the pools, restaurants and monorail.
we had a nice view of the grounds as well.

We were in Samoa, volcano pool side. Great view of the pool and the lake. Third floor, non smoking room. I'll look for the room number

Did you feel close to everything from there? Did you ever walk to the TTC and how long did it take?

How were the cast members there? Friendly and helpfull? Any towel animals left by mousekeeping?

Would love to know the room number

Thanks for the help

Dave

Samoa is very centrally located to the GCH, volcano pool, quiet pool and restaurants. It was <10 minutes to walk to the monorail itself for EPCOT, not to the gate. That's a doable walk in good weather but if it's raining I'd opt to transfer and take the resort monorail the extra feet. I did not feel isolated at all, in fact we were right in the middle of everything. It's also recently renovated, with a rather large bathroom, but only one sink if that is an issue. I think there were some other longhouses that had two sinks. It's a great location if you have kids, it's right between both pools. Castmembers were polite, no rude experiences. No towel animals, even with cute little mousekeeping envelopes put out each day for them. We had some issues at check in that were handled by the manager on duty, Mark. He was great. Our room location, which was exactly what I had asked for view wise, was also right next to the elevator. We were awakened each morning at ~6:30 by running, screaming children and parents. Not very peaceful :( I found the hotel to be a lovely place but my family is of the been there, seen it, lets go somewhere else philosophy. It just wasn't right for us at that time. Maybe if the rude guests weren't there............
