What brand of luggage should I buy?

I am looking at purchasing luggage for our trip in November as right now we only have a couple of duffle bags and a very old suitcase and we are packing for 4 people. I was looking at this http://www.luggageonline.com/product.cfm?productID=3677&catID=11&brandID=0&tab=2 . Is this a good brand? I'm leaning towards the hard sided luggage but other than Samsonite (which I don't think I can afford) what is there thats good and dependable? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am not a good one to ask because we always buy cheap luggage. After spending way tooo much on a couple sets only to have the luggage handlers destroy it we now buy whatever is on sale and use it as long as possible. IME it lasts as long as some of the best brands. I buy something in an odd color with the extra zipper to expand and wheels. I don't over pack it and use a luggage strap as extra protection. I find Marshalls and JC Penney often have good deals on decent peices. If you have ever watched the baggage get onto and off the aircraft you will likely never spend $$ on luggage again.

Have fun shopping.

We get ours at KMart...and it has lasted through 2 cruises, a trip to WDW, and many many many trips to visit my parents upstate.

Remember most airlines now have a 50lb weight limit on each suitcase ... a hard-sided suitcase will probably weight more than a soft sided one.

Also I don't recommend buying a large suitcase ... buy two medium ones. I only filled my 29" softsided suitcase 3/4 full and it weighed 45 lbs ... for our next trip I purchased two smaller suitcases.

In fact I recently ordered a three piece red Mickey set from Disney Direct for $79.99 ... it appears quite sturdy.

I use duffle bags from LLBean. Grape with lime green monogramming. Who would ever make a mistake and take that.

WHAT A GOOD IDEA!!! I retired our old luggage today..and got the Lime green duffles at LL Bean 2 medium ones. They were great priced..and They will be BRIGHT green so we will easily be able to see them when picking up at baggage claim. Good idea!!!! :cool1:

Travelpro, while expensive is the best luggage! I am a former flight attendant and hubby is a pilot! They last and last.... I ordered the Family luggage recently as well rather than the crew luggage.

May I ask where you bought them?

Thanks in advance!

DH and I have several sets of Atlantic. We bought two carry-on suiters which just fit in the overhead compartment for short business trips, and a larger piece that we can use for extended trips. Bought all three at Lazarus/Macy's, although eBags has them as well.

I just bought a 4 piece set from Disney deals - it is the Pooh tapestry set - great set! It is pretty sturdy and totally adorable.

DH has a huge duffel from Eddie Bauer that he LOVES. It is large enough that I was able to pack the entire Pack and Play in it for my recent trip to Boston (which is what I intend to do for our WDW trip in October)

I also have a set by Etienne Aiger that is amazing - I have had it for 5+ years - it has seen many a trip and still looks brand new.
