What brand of computer do you have?

Currently own a Dell, but buying an Alienware soon!

We are on our second HP desk top and we also have an HP laptop. We have had wonderful luck with them.

I built my own I will not buy a name brand system the Dell I had from an employer was terrible and always needed repairs the Sony Vaio's are not bad but unless you get into the higher end ones int he 2500 dollar range they do not have the upgradeability that a clone offers you. I know what products I want in my machine and I can build it for about half the price of buying a name brand.

My sentiments exactly. With parts and components sold over the internet, I get exactly what I want with the better quality than factory built. I built DH's desktop for 1/2 the price of a Dell with comparable parts, and I don't get all the preinstalled junk. All the PCs we have now have been stripped down, reformated and rebuilt clean - and let me tell you... they work so much better - hardly any crashes, speeds jumped tremendously, and just cleaner performance overall.

DH built our main pc - according to him it's a state of the art gaming rig. I have no idea what's in it but it's fast and the graphics are pretty.

Three DELL desktops here, and we will never buy anything else. Had an IBM prior to that and I don't want another one thank you very much.
We didn'y pay much for the DELL's, basically my husband customizes the desktops and they build it according to his specifications.

oogieboogie I agree and now with Dell gooing the way that IBM HP AND the likes used to be you have to buy components from them for compatability. I prefer to get my list of components I want go in to the shop and buy them and put it all together myself that way I know exactly what is in it no integrated video or audio etc. I get what I want and it does what I want and runs far more stable than the name brand stuff. Plus if I want to work on it or add anything it doesn't void any warranties.

I have a dell laptop and a dell desktop and love them both. My 4 year old has an emachine which has lasted about 5 years now with no problem other than it is old and slow. I am getting her a new Dell for her birthday so my vote goes to Dell!
