I am having the hardest time finding jeans that fit my son. He always wore Gap kids jeans, but now he is too tall. I took him to the Gap to try on men's jeans, but they didn't have his size in stock, 29 waist and 32 length, so we had to order a pair. Well, they finally came and the 32 is too short and he thinks the waist is a bit too big. Of course I had washed them, so I am not sure I can return them. DS only has 1 pair of gap kids jeans left that fit him, so I need to find more. One pair of his size 18 gap kids boot cut jeans still are long enough, whereas the other 2 pairs in the same style and length don't fit anymore :confused3

What brand does your DS wear? My ds likes a dark rinse and not too tight. He told me that he won't wear Aeropostale.

DS16 wears a 30x34, and only American Eagle fit him the way he likes. We have to order them on-line because they never have the 34 length in the store. He wears either the skinny or the straight fit, and only dark wash. Even the skinny fit is loose on him. He's long and lean- nothing to him.

I take my teen sons to JC Penny for their jeans they wear about a 29x32 or 30x32 with a belt.

I had to use American Eagle for a LONG time on-line. My son was a 29 waist and a 34 length and I could only order them on line. Give them a try because you can always return them to the store and, right now, they are having lots of deals and free shipping. My son is sort of a slim-fit person so we always ordered a straight/slim jean (not the skinny jean though).

wanted to add that although they are not cheap in price, American Eagle jeans are very well made!!! DS has always outgrown his before he's worn them out.

My DS is only 13, but he wears men's jeans (28x32), and he really only likes American Eagle. He likes the fit and he also prefers a dark wash.

ETA: DS won't wear Aeropostale, either. He says they fit like skinny jeans.

Me too. Arizona or Levi's for my DS14 who wears a 29x32 sometimes with a belt. It's my husband that I have the hard time finding jeans for. He's a 31x32. Try finding that size in a store.

My DS is a size 29 x 34 or 36 if we can find them. We have to go the western wear stores - they have every size imaginable. However lately we have been able to find him jeans at Bluenote (might be a Canadian store)

my DS is 6'1" wears a 29x34. He absolutely HATES jeans so his opinion of comfort is skewed, but Levi's skinny (not Super skinny) fit really well and for work he has to wear black ones so he likes the Denizen skinny brand from Tartget. Those run about $27-28. He also has Levi straight leg but they tend to be a little too baggy , but at least he can fit his wallet in the pocket of those, lol. Basically, my kid lives in basketball shorts even thru Chicago winters. On really nasty below zero days he will throw pj bottoms over the shorts to get from the parking lot to school.I have oreders the Levis, but lately seem to only find a 32 length..but I knoe Kohl's, Penney's and Macy's all cary them around me. My DS won't wear Aeropostle either. Pacsun has a brand , Bullhead I think, that do fit DS, but he is not really a trendy kind of guy so he isn't crazy about looking looking too "hipster", lol.

American Eagle - 29 x 32, with a belt (not leather). He wears them a little low, with only ;) the very top of his boxers showing.

My son was a super awkward size too. The only place I could find jeans, at a reasonable cost, was JC Penney. Plus, you can order those off the wall sizes on line and they ship!! YAY!

My son is 6'4" and super skinny. Those big and tall sections are a joke. I always say they need to have a tall and skinny section :)

My DS likes Levi's 514 Slim Straight jean.
Levi's website has been sending out emails about sales of 25% off everything. You might check and see if they are still doing the sale. I've also bought then through Kohl's website using their discounts.

Good luck finding something that works.

My son is tall and super skinny too. He had had good luck at Kohl's and TJ Maxx.

I don't have a DS but I do have a short dd who is hard to fit.:thumbsup2

What I do is I take the kid to every store in the mall and have them try on jeans to find the best ones with fit, price, etc...

Once you find your "spots" then you can sign up for coupons etc...

American Eagle has a "store card" (not a credit card) that can get you some deals & coupons.

YES! THIS! DS is 6'4, 29 x 36. AND HE'S 14. Not even done growing. DH is 6'6. DD is 11 and 5'6. She has officially caught me and I am now the shrimp in the house. To add insult to injury, shoe sizes! 14, 15 and a women's 11. I am the only one in the house that doesn't have to special order.

To answer OP's question, Levi's usually from JCPenney (usually ordered). DH wears the Polo jeans, also special ordered. Big and Tall is a major joke. It's mostly just Big.

Another tall, skinny kid here-American Eagle jeans is what he usually gets. We watch for sales and usually get them for around $25. He needs 29x34's but we can never find those so he gets the 30x34's which we used to have to order online but lately they have had them in the stores . We have NOT had good luck with the jeans he ordered online from AE though. We got him 2 pair at the beginning of last year and they both ripped down the rear--not on the seam or the pocket but between them--very odd. The instore ones seem to be better for whatever reason.

He JUST fits into the 34 length. He is still growing and by spring will need 36's-then I don't know what we will do.

Truthfully, I get my son's jeans at good ole Walmart. Seriously. I've never had trouble with them. And at the rate in which both of them are growing, I'm glad that they're between $12 and $25 (depending on what brand)

My oldest son doesn't care too much what brand he wears, as long as they are straight cut (no boot cut or skinny jeans for him). So for him I can pick up a pair of Lee or Wrangler and he's good to go. He's 16 and wears a 36x34.

My youngest son has been fine with the same kinds of jeans as his brother (usually got his hand-me-downs) but now he has shown interest in the dark wash Levi's, straight cut (just bought him 3 pair for Christmas). He's 14 and wears a 30x32.

I think we'd all love to get a pair of $12 jeans for our kids; however, it seems places like Wal-Mart (or even many other stores) do not carry sizes for tall/skinny boys. Sure, you can find a 29 waist but try to find it in a 34 length. Not happening. I couldn't even shop at Target on Walmart for my son until he put on some weight. Now I can at least get him the Levi's Denizen jeans in 32 x 34 (of which they will have ONE pair in the store). If I buy him relaxed fit, forget it, the 32 waist is way too big.

My DS is 14 & 1/2. He is a 28X32 or 29X32 (28X32 are hard to come by) even the 28s have to have a belt to stay up. He wears American Eagle.
