What boat did we see at AK?

No such thing as a silly question right?? What DID we see??

We were at Animal Kingdom in early Feb. and were in behind Flame Tree heading down to a quiet spot for lunch. We stopped and looked at Discovery River and there was some sort of a boat going by?? It had some live music (I think) being played and there were a few characters onboard. My memory fails, but by looking at the photo.. it Chip and/or Dale??

Does anyone know what this boat was?? Is it a regular thing? Does it go "dock" somewhere?

It's one of the old Discovery Boats; the boats that were formerly transportation around the lake. One boat has been revamped/seats removed and is being used occassionally as a floating musical show of sorts. I've seen it with Mickey and Minnie on it also.

When AK opened, there was a Radio Disney Cruise. I was at AK within the first year, but evidently this ride was so lame they shut it down in a short period of time. I remember some reviews at the time, and it must have been one of the worst attractions ever at WDW. I'll bet someone here experienced it. Anybody wanna give us a review?

I saw this too when we were there in Nov. I was wondering the same thing. Chip and Dale were on it, all day it seemed. I thought it was so cute!!

When DAK first opened it was Discovery River Boats. Their purpose was transportation around the park much like the Friendship launches at EPCOT. A problem arose when many people thought it was an attraction unto itself and the lines starting getting incredibly long. The only things you saw were a dragon made of rocks (where BK was slated to go) and a large Dinosaur statue in the water near Dinoland. People would get off the boat and say "That was it?!?!?!?!" The CM's on board usually had spiders and such in small boxes to educate the riders, but that was it. Disney Radio was the second incarnation and that bombed as well.
