I am currently Potty training my just turned 3 yo, and I do remember those days of babysitting my nieces before I had a child of my own. I think it's a lot different dealing with potty training even when it's a family member like a niece. My son, when he gets sick, likes to throw up on my husband. It's gross, but you just deal with it.

Sometimes when kids are at this age and potty training, it can be very messy and very unexpected for someone who's not used to it. We;ve all been in that situation when the kid's peeing on the carpet, the phone is ringing, the water's overflowing.....

It's not nitpicking you. It is trying to help. Sorry that you feel criticized. And it's not just about you, it's about a little boy being made to feel bad and punished for having an accident by his mother, too.

I haven't had a child of my own yet, but I have done plenty of babysitting.
