WL also has a very interesting architecture/grounds tour that's good for older kids.

If we arrive pre-check in at a hotel near MK & don't have tix for the 1st day, we check in

We check our bags with bell desk, check in to get notified when room is ready, and hop the boats to the TTC where we ride the monorail - it makes us feel like we're really 'home' again.

Don't forget to take breaks! There is a cool down area outside Test Track in Epcot. Hit the Character spot while in Epcot. I have the cutest picture of my son meeting Mickey for the first time from there.
