I tried doing a search on this, but the search engine is not cooperating with me.. So I apologize if this question has been asked...

What bag(s) do you take into the park? When we go, I have most recently taken my normal, everyday purse and just change the straps so it slings across my shoulders and sits on my hip, but this last trip, it just killed my shoulder :headache: , I couldn't handle it and I had to fix the strap back to just go over shoulder, and that was annoying because it kept slipping off..

I don't like normal backpacks, as they are too big for what we carry (usually a water bottle or two, digital camera, sunglasses, sometimes a sweatshirt, chapstick, and keys.. And whatever we buy)..

I have read a lot about the baggallini messenger bag.. Just wanted to see what everyone else uses and finds comfortable for them..

Any help would greatly help. Thank you so much! :cutie:

I use a purse by The North Face that is black and is totally indestructable. I have switched to a smaller model now that the kids are older and I dont need as many "extras" in my purse. This bag has an extendable strap and goes across the body. It is about 9"x12" with lots of interior pockets. It is about $60 from any outdoor store.

LL Bean also makes a great purse in their travel collection that comes in 2 sizes and several colors. It is only $28 and is very roomy and comfortable across the body. Mine has gotten a bit worn so I changed to the North Face bag. The velcro closures tend to wear out on the LL Bean model. Both of these have zipper tops so that you dont have to worry about things falling out.

These are my "theme park" bags and then a pack a "normal" bag for fancier dinners etc.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

We use a sling back...like the messenger bag I guess. We got really lucky last year and found one at Eddie Baur outlet for $6.99...it's almost exactly like this, just slightly bigger http://www.eddiebauer.com/eb/product.asp?product_id=31232&nv=5|21474|24451&lview=&cm_cg=C24451&tid=&c=&sc=&lp=v1i009
Lots of separate storage compartments and roomy enough to fit two sweatshirts and water bottles. Also has a side compartment specifically for water. We ended up buying two just because it was such a great deal. No back or shoulder pain either....they are wonderful.

I have been using a Lesportsac Classic Hobo bag. It has an adjustable strap so I hang it on the back of the stroller when we're walking around, and use it across my body when I'm in lines for rides.

It's super light and reasonably roomy, although I just got a couple of new lenses for my camera and it's really pushing it, so I'm looking for something slightly bigger.

I bought a Lesportsac knockoff at DL last week that is black and has "Mickey Mouse" written all over it in different colors. I will probably sell my Lesportsac on eBay and keep this one, as it's a little bigger and so cute! It's kind of like this one but a little bigger and has 2 zippered pockets on the front. It was about $25.

I use my Jansport Backpack. I have found my backpack to be a little more comfortable than anything else. I used a messenger bag for a couple of years and I just did not find it to feel right.

I don't carry a bag when we go. I keep our tickets, credit cards etc in a lanyard. If we are going when we need to store stuff (jackets etc) we get a locker.

We use a backpack because we need to bring things for my dd.

But if we didnt need all those things I would probably have like a mini backpack or something, a messenger bag would be my first choice.

I carry a Coach Swingpack. It is the perfect size for my camera, lipstick & mirror, small wallet and sunglasses. I can sling it across my body and not worry about holding anything- while still looking stylish! :flower3:

Plus, it has canvas straps that hold pins very well. :)

DH carries around a sling backpack full of all the other heavier things such as water bottles, snacks, etc.

I always use a Nike drawstring bag when I go to the parks. It's really convenient for me since all I ever hold are keys, cell phone, pins, my wallet, and maybe a light sweater. It's big enough to fit my camera bag if I want, light enough to not notice that it's there and secure just in cast someone wants to pick-pocket me... or whatever. :rotfl:

We use an Ameribag. It looks like a back pack but the shape is more like a tear drop. It has lots of compartments - enough for 2 water bottles, camera, snacks, tickets, tissues, wallet, Tylenol, bandaids. It's not as big as a back pack and it has great, cushioned strap (one strap) that adjusts to whatever way you want to wear it. It easily fits on all rides and you are guaranteed that you have what you need. We bought it several years ago and have used it every time we go. We've never been disappointed. It comes in several sizes.

I have a Baggallini messenger bag and I like it IF I am wearing a coat or hoodie. The way it hangs tends to dig into my neck/shoulder and that big metal clip is uncomfortable w/ tshirts, etc,. I LOVE the bag itself and its functionality, but that heavy metal clip is a serious design flaw that needs to be fixed...THEN it would be my perfect bag!
I also have a wallet w/ a large strap that I can wear messenger bag style and I use that when I don't want to carry my camera. It has room for all my money, cards, maps, and even a small pocket on the backside for my cell phone.

I just use a fanny pack. Room for camera, snacks, mini water bottle. I always wear pants with a back pocket for my wallet that has ID and park tickets and front pocket for cash. Cargo pants are helpful also for added stuff room.

I use a Baggallini (not sure if I spelled it right) Messenger bag. Here is a pic of one I found online:

It is a nice bag. There is room for a water bottle, camera, maps, makeup, and for my DD: pullups, wipes, juice box, snacks, hat. And there was still lots of room. It also has a pocket on the strap for money or a cell phone.

I also hear the Overland Donner bag is nice, too.

Thank all of you very your input! I'm doing a lot of research on all the bags you've named.. (Can you tell I'm picky when it comes to this stuff?)..

You guys are the greatest, thank you!!!!

I really like this bag from looking at it online, but that's what I heard that the big metal clip is lame.. And that would annoy me all day with the clip.. Can you take it off??

i have a messanger bag from disney.com 10dollers pirates one me and fionce

Daisy, does the metal clip bother you?

The only metal that I know of is for the strap. It doesn't bother me at all. :)

Thanks!! :) I really like them! I hope it doesn't bother me! I think I'll order it and see.. Is it really bulky carrying it around the parks..?

It just depends on how much you stuff in it. It got bulky for me b/c I was carrying not only my stuff but DD's baby gear, too. Plus, DH would stuff things in there, too. I think it is worth trying. :)
