What Disney attractions do you get the best pictures of and which ones frustrate you the most by being hard to capture. I think most people will list Cinderella's Castle as one of the easiest to shoot and the Finding Nemo show as one of the hardest. What about the rest?

I remain tormented by the Yeti.

Thr Epcot ball is easy from many vantage points.

Down with PoC, my nemesis.

As for the Nemo show, it is impossible. Photos are not allowed, and I know any good Dis'er would never...:fish:

Some of the best/easiest are the ones that are outside where you have time to get it right like the castle, SE, jungle trek, etc.

To me the hardest (never tried with DSLR though) is my very favorite all time attraction... The Haunted Mansion!!!

I like DUMBO, it gives great colors and the one in DisneyLAND you have an area that is raised right next to it so if the kids are flying you are almost at their level instead of shooting the bottom of an elephant.

SoCal skies are horrible, always more a bright HAZE than a deep blue like Floridas can be. So at Disneyland any attraction that requires exposing for the sky is not my favorite.

I also like shooting the kids getting soaked on Grizzly River Rapids, many vantage points throughout the route...

Even a DSLR won't help much with the HM. It's really dark and never stops.

Both Pirates and Haunted Mansion are evil! ISO 1600 (max for my drebel) at 1.8 on my nifty 50 and I still can't get a fast enough shutter speed to compensate for the motion. Is it wrong that I hope for them to either break down or have to stop temporarily to load someone?

This actually reminds me of something. When I was younger, I absolutely hated when an attraction would stop, but now that I am older and love taking pictures, I usually just pull out the camera and start snapping away. I had the best opportunity ever at HM when I was about 17-18. My car stopped for about ten minutes right in the middle of the ballroom scene. Sadly, all I had with me was an ISO 200 disposable :headache: I tried a few, but no luck.

It looks like you have an extra http:// in front of the

If you are posting from photobucket, all you have to do is copy the link and then post it here. You don't have to use the "post an image" button here.

Did that make any sense?

You know Mark, for someone who "left" Disboards a couple months ago, you've sure been starting a lot of threads lately. :teeth:

SpectroMagic and Fantasmic are the hardest outdoors for me... Spectro due to the motion and Fantasmic due to being dark and far away, so to get really good shots, you need a fast long-focal-length lens. And I ain't got one right now. Fortunately, I do have a good setup for SpectroMagic so I am satisfied with my results, if I have my settings correct!

Indoors, most any dark ride. How about Space Mountain or Rock 'n' Rollercoaster? (I did nab a couple Space Mt photos last trip, including the queue and on-ride... mixed results but not too awful.) I didn't even bother with on-ride PotC or HM shots.

Someone around here got a really nice Yeti shot with their compact digicam and flash, IIRC. I got an OK shot or two of the "silhouette" scene but not of the Yeti itself (the camera was more configured for outdoor photos at the time.)

The lighting in PotC and HM has also changed... back in 2003, it was noticably brighter than previously and than it is today. (I remember noticing the ceiling in PotC and the graveyard scrims were far too obvious in the graveyard scene.) This was confirmed when I asked about it on a Keys to the Kingdom tour last year.

I was gone. I came back. I was buried with home projects but got far enough ahead to have alittle leisure time again. This forum works well because I can do it while I multi-task.
