What area the best foods at Disneyland?

For those of you that have had the bread bowl at Pacific Wharf Cafe, what is your take on the cron chowder and the broccoli and cheese bowls?? And how about the chili??

Whitewater snacks is in the Grand Californian.

We ate at Carnation Cafe on our "Girls only" trip in April ( not the same sas the Dis Girls trip) and Oscar was circulating among the tables. He stopped at ours to scold my travel buddy for not finishing her potatoes. He got up at 4 AM to make those potatoes, he told her, and the least she could do was eat them.

We heart the Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans. Also, could it be that no one has mentioned Tigger Tails?

Does the whitewater snacks still have the cup that you can refill? I can't remember if it was a free refill or 99 cents or so. It was a few years back and I remember staying at the Grand California hotel and that was the only good thing there was the whitewater snacks and the refill soda.

They used to have a cup with free refills but it was discontinued a few years ago.

If you go to CA, head off to the right and go past Soarin. Follow the path around and you will see a little path going off to the right. It is in the area of the Rapid ride. If you walk in a little you will see it goes right to the hotel. Once you are in the hotel area, turn left and there is WWS. There is also an uncrowed bathroom next to it too.

Sherry, I have seen people on here say they were going to do BB for only dessert. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue. We may even do that. Their menu doesn't look that great, but I'm dying to try the boat dessert. I love the monte cristo, but I can get it for less at Cafe New Orleans.

Yes, last time we were there (in May) we did BB for dessert only. We got the Cookie boat and it is good stuff. I wouldn't recommend eating the sail though. It's edible but doesn't taste like much. The only thing is, you have to make it clear to them when they bring you the menus that you're only having dessert. We got the sense that they weren't too happy about it, but they served us quickly (probably to get us out of there and clear our table for another group to drop a couple C-notes.)

Oh, thanks so much for that info, Goofy_Dave! I thought of that - that BB might try to hustle us out of there quickly, but that's fine. In fact, they should be happy (other than making less money off of us) if we just want dessert because we will be out of there faster than if we had a leisurely meal and they can get some big spenders in there, as you said. Not that the food isn't good (though I haven't eaten at BB in 30 years!), but we are already spending quite a bit on our usual Goofy's Kitchen breakfast buffet (that is a MUST every trip) and there is no need to shell out big bucks for another high-priced meal on this trip. Maybe if we make it back for Christmas (which I hope to do), we can treat ourselves to a real meal at BB. But, for now, this is a good way for my friend, who has never been to BB, to see the inside of it without breaking the bank. We will make sure to get a couple of desserts and coffee just so we both order something, but I am sure that brownie boat will be filling enough for two or three of us to pick at.

What is the sail made of? Is it candy of some kind? I won't eat it. I think I will be full enough with the rest of it that I don't need to resort to a tasteless sail!

Oh, I forgot to say earlier- about the cupcakes at Goofy's: They are TERRIBLE, aren't they? I think it's because they are so pretty you expect them to taste amazing, and then you get a mouthful of styrofoam.

They are! And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Goofy's! I eat breakfast there every time I go to DLR. I think they do an amazing job with the food selections at breakfast/brunch - it is all fresh and flavorful and yummy - but when they trotted out a b-day cupcake last December for my friend, it was NOT good at all. First of all, it was dark chocolate. Now some people love dark chocolate, but not all kids like it, so I was surprised that that was their choice for birthday cupcakes. But the taste, texture and freshness were not good - and I know there are better cupcakes to be found in DLR because people have had some really scrumptious ones sent to their rooms in the hotels! Why they can't get good cupcakes at Goofy's is beyond me because everything else (at least for breakfast; don't know about dinner) is so delicious!

We ate at White Water Snacks and I was not terribly impressed with what I got. I had a tuna sandwich and the bread was rather dry. My niece got the French dip sandwich and the meat wasn't all that good. Tasted like it was warmed over a couple of times. I was thinking afterwards I probably should have gotten nachos instead. I'd heard so much about chicken strips in the past and they didn't even have them. I really enjoy Carnation Cafe, however. We usually eat there at least once every time we go.

You know, I just thought of a question I had for all of you knowledgeable Disney folks. I have not been to the Blue Bayou in PROBABLY about 30 years! Isn't that amazing? I feel as old as Methuseleh. Anyway, when we go back to DLR in October, one of my friends who has never eaten there at all before expressed an interest in wanting to go, but we are both well aware of how pricey it is. I suggested that we do what we did last year at Carnation Cafe - just go in and have a 'dessert meal,' and order a few items to share. That way, we will be spending less money than we would be if we were ordering entrees but still getting the BB ambience. After I suggested it, I was wondering if BB would let us do that. I can't see why not. Money is money and as long as we order a couple of dessert things, it should be okay, right? Does anyone know if that is okay? I would be shocked if it is not acceptable!

I know that several here have done this with no problems. Just a note of caution... I was very much looking forward to the Key Lime pie..but it was not good at all and tasted like a Jello box mix

Churros and Chocolate covered frozen bananas are my favorite foods at Disneyland . You can buy both at carts throughout the park.

Really? That might have been a thing we ordered too. Okay, I will take your word for it and skip it. Thanks for the word of warning, Nunzia! I would rather not take my chances on it. I will stick with my brownie boat because it looks like you really can't go wrong with that!
