If your party is either all adults or adults and older children (over 10 or teens), then the following are really good:
- Kennedy Space Centre
- Some form of Everglades day trip (air boats, crocodiles, boat rides, maybe a nice lunch)

I thought that both would be a bit boring, but both were amazing. Learning about the "Space Race" (the risks they took and the human sacrifices made) just blows you away... The Everglades are great too - real, untames florida: you get a better feel for the real state.

Disney is indeed great, BUT there is so much more out there. I actually prefer the Gulf Coast to Orlando (it is beautiful and has so much charm!), but get out voted by the "wallet holder"... :confused3

St John's River Air Boat Tour definitely a must and another vote for Kennedy Space Centre and also The Astronauts Hall of Fame just next door.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
If your inclined to shop lots of companies offer the Shop 'til you Drop bus excursion including breakfast taking you to various malls and outlets.
How about a day at the beach or a visit to Daytona if you have racing fans in the family??
There's lots of choices for other activities in The Brit's Guide to Orlando something for every taste in fact!! I highly recommend you buy a copy and give it a thorough read for more ideas:love:

I just love Busch Gdns, only been to Orlando twice now but each time we have come away knowing 100% that Busch was the best day each time.

Vist to Winter Park for a look round the shops and lunch - followed by the historic Winter Park boat tour

shopping florida mall
magic kingdom
shopping mall at millenia
mgm
shopping at downtown disney
and oh go on then shopping at the outlets

Ditto - we love it there. IMO, you need a nice day, so keep your plans fluid.

Places we have long had on the 'to do' list, but never seem to get around to are the Historic Bok Sanctuary and Silver Springs.

Boggy Creek is well worth a visit for the airboat ride, but we found the swamp buggy tour a tad underwhelming.

Other than that, we really enjoy shopping, golf and resort touring. The Mall at Millenia is my favourite shopping venue, with Florida Mall a close second. Pointe Orlando also promises to be a happening place, post renovation - I'm particularly looking forward to the Tommy Bahama Cafe and The Captial Grille.

A day out to Saint Augustine! About an easy 2 hour drive... but well worth it!.
You can see some real American history.
The Spanish settlers arrived there in the 1500's to find some 7ft indians... the Spanish street holds the oldest wooden school house in the USA, which is chained down with a big anchor!!
A lovely place to visit!

Agreed, I haven't been there for some time (since I was 6/7/8 years old!), but it was quite an amazing and interetsing place. The Americans are very proud of their history and our very proud in how they present it :)

As long as in involves Disney or shopping I am happy:banana:

Oops,, Almost forgot.. if you like shopping,, you can combine a day in St. Augustine with the Premium Outlets!!

http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=55

Very similar to those at LBV, but you can always find a different bargain there!

Be sure to join their VIP club and get the extra discounts. We saved so much on Timberland, perfume, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein etc....

I'd go to St. Augustine during the day, and go to the outlets in the evening.. they are open till 9pm.. then the journey back to Orlando would be nice and quiet!

We did a boat trip on Lake ToHo which was lovely. We were originally looking for an airboat trip but were told that a normal speedboat was better as the airboats are very noisy and scare away the wildlife. It was nice to have a slower paced day and see some of the 'real' Florida.

1. MK
2. IOA
3. US
4. Stroll round Celebration and drinks!
5. Busch gdns if only it was closer!

could easy list more though!!

Disney Magic Kingdom
Disney Animal Kingdom
Disney MGM
Disney EPCOT
Boggy Creek air boat - definately a good day as a break from Disney.

Or my favourite breakfast out, shopping mall and then Disney park for fireworks and dinenr later on!
