What are your pre-trip rituals?

What do you do in the week leading up to your trip to enhance your excitement for going to Disney?

We leave in less than a week, and right now I'm giving my daughter breakfast while we listen to Mouseworld radio. I heard "Good Morning Main Street U.S.A." when I first turned it on, and it brought me right to MK in the mornings. I can't wait to get there!

I have the 4 parks/One World and Disneyland CDs that I'll listen to in the car this week too (have to say, though, I prefer the DLR CD!)

I've also been watching/listening to the DIS Unplugged and WDWToday podcasts for the last 2 months or so.

What else do you do? Share what gets you edxcited as you get ready to pack and leave!

This may sound like a silly thing but we go for brunch at Denny's the weekend before and talk about our "must do's" at each park, what we are looking forward to the most and remind each other things to pack.
We have a "newbie" going with us this time. My son's wife hasn't been.
So, this will be an even better trip!
:dance3:

Im guessing you mean the fun stuff and not what first came to mind:
- obsessively checking my partially packed suitcase to make sure XYZ is in there
- running around like a chicken with my head cut off making last minute purchases or pet arrangements and wondering how the trip I've planned for 8 months has "suddenly" gotten here
- settling sibling squabbles by saying "If you want to ride Test Track instead of waiting for us outside, you'd better stop harassing your sister!"

In THAT case, we watch a couple favorite Disney movies we haven't seen in a while and play "Whistle While You Work" and "Spoonful of Sugar" while cleaning our rooms.

We have 11 weeks until our trip, and I told her I would love to watch one Disney movie each weekend until we go. :)

i try to give myself something to do each day so i don't drive myself crazy. i go through our packed luggage and make sure it matches the contents list i have in my binder. i'll double check that the dogs needs are covered, extra new toys in a basket for the pet/house sitter, kongs full of peanut butter and frozen. daily check to make sure our flights and reservations are all unchanged. gotta make sure the house is spotless too.

We're arriving tomorrow, my pre-trip ritual?

Obsessively hitting 'refresh' for the "Theme Park Attractions and Strategies" board on the DIS!!! :thumbsup2

Our ritual goes well beyond a week...it normally starts at 100 days out. We have a dry erase board in the kitchen that we count down the days each morning. We like to mention something about the Trip and what we want to do or are anticipating with each passing day. :goodvibes

Footnote to those stressed about forgetting to pack something: when we start our 100 day countdown, we also start a list of items to bring along. Every time you use something or think of something that will be or could be needed, you put it on the list. That all started in 1981 when we went to WDW for the first half of our Honeymoon and a few choice items were left behind! ;)

Although it's not counting a short amount of weeks, per se, I just made a countdown calendar via walmart photo and used our first trip's photos to make a wonderful countdown calendar (even though it's just an 18 month calendar)! It's got our favorite moments from our first trip in pictures while it will basically count us down until our next trip!
