There's a lot I want to do, whether it will actually get done is another question.
1. Gut and expand my bathroom. I need better and more storage. The current vanity doesn't even have a drawer.
2. Update half bath (new toilet and vanity)
3. Remove fireplace, update flooring, replace the back slider in the family room. The fireplace is crumbling and the chimney doesn't draw, so we'd rather take it out than fix it (there is another functional fireplace in the living room). The flooring is pine, which does not work with big dogs in the house and this being the main exit for potty breaks.
We have some maintenance issues to take care of: replace some warped deck boards, replace and paint some rotted exterior window trim. Also want to clean out the garage. And then we want to take the carpet off the stairs and replace the plywood underneath with stained oak treads and white painted risers.
if you want ground cover plant strawberries. birds eat strawberries and will um, er....naturally plant strawberry seeds in other areas of your yard to create more ground cover.
We just moved in last June. Lots that we want to do, but very small budget to do it. For now, we plan to update the front landscaping. Out lawn man has raked out all of the pine needles and will re-lace with mulch. He also removed stumps in the beds. DH cut down a bunch of overgrown shrubs, plants, etc. We went To a nursery today to get some ideas of what we want to plant and will start working on the layout, so we can be ready to plant when it is time.
We have a huge list. New fence, build a shed so my husband can have the garage back for workshop as he needs it for work/fixing the cars, and renovating our second bathroom.
I have small projects like rebuilding the front steps, painting the garage and painting the porch. Just waiting for the weather to warm up, so hopefully in May.
I’m hoping to finally have the vanity in my bathroom replaced and the walls and ceiling in there need to be repainted. My hardwood floors are going to be refinished and then repaint the trim and walls throughout. The cedar siding needs some sprucing up, I need to replace a few fence panels, replace the screen on my back porch and do some landscaping. Anything beyond that is a bonus. I’m pretty handy but some stuff is beyond my skill set and finding a contractor has proven to be a challenge.
