Hey guys,
Since being a passholder, I've been able to slow down my days in the park. I don't have to worry about hitting every ride since I can always comeback soon. Since many of you are also passholders, I was just wondering what other fun things you guys like to do at the park besides rides & attractions. I've played team hide and seek which was pretty fun with a large group. We would call and text on our phones to give hints on our locations. Another time, I made a scavenger hunt for my friends and I. That was fun too. What do you guys do?

I don't do anything exciting like hide & seek, but I watch the lowering of the flag ceremonies a lot and listen to performers, but not all the time. Even though I'm an AP too, my fam & I will usually go to a ride and if the line is long, we just walk to another one to see if that one is long. No biggies. It's just a lot of walking around. I also like strolling through the shops to see if there's anything new. And recently, I've found myself finding fire hydrants throughout the park.

I might sound like a lush, but I love to go wine tasting. I love the Cm's there and the wine is so good. It's relaxing and fun.

Ohhh wine tasting!! Thank YOU! something to add to our big kids trip in a month!!!! :goodvibes

PEOPLE WATCH...I totally agree!

We skip most any line we see, knowing "we'll be back"

Find a spot to sit down and enjoy the sights, smells and sounds of the happiest place on earth!

That's next to Wine Country Trattoria, yes?

Yes right next door to WCT. If you go over during certain times they offer tastings, typically $10 each group, they offer all reds, all whites, usually Port and Blue Cheese and occasionally others. I love that they mix them up about every month so they are not always the same.

I might even have to try that wine tasting, and I am not much of a drinker! The people I saw standing at the counter looked very 'happy.'

The hide and seek and scavenger hunt ideas sound like a lot of fun - kind of like a DLR version of the Amazing Race. I doubt I could ever get people to go along with that in my group. What I like to do is scout out hidden Mickeys. In fact, it would be cool to kind of incorporate hidden Mickeys into a scavenger hunt! I could probably spend a whole day just wandering around, looking for them, and I probably wouldn't even find half of them. I like to roam around and take pictures of things like restaurant signs and attraction signs, shop signs and bathroom signs, as they are all unique and themed to each land, not to mention the fact that some of these places will be replaced by other things at some point, so it is good to have pictures for posterity!

We're definitely shows, parades and people watchers. On one trip, we spent about 11 hours there, and only went on one ride! Buzz Lightyear if I reacall correctly. But we saw every show and parade that we wanted too and spent a good hour and a half sitting on the curb on Main Street with ice cream waiting for the parade and playing our favorite game: "I can't believe they wore that in public!" And it was an empty day in October. One of our best days ever.

We have a similar game to "I can't believe they wore that in public!" We always try to spot someone wearing high heels or uncomfortable, inappropriate shoes - and there inevitably are always some women who seem to be wearing them!! And we also play "Guess the relationship," where we try to determine by studying body language and interaction what a specific couple's relationship is, like whether they are newly married, married for a looooong time, just dating, just friends but he/she wants more, on their first date, living together but can't stand each other, mother-daughter, best friends, etc. It is fun once you get into it! I mean, I don't know how accurate we were in our guesses, but it is amazing how much you can interpret from watching people interact with each other and what their body language is!

I go alone often and enjoy riding the train at least one revolution around the park. Any mode of transportation up or down Main St. Browsing ALL the shops! Any ride with a five minute line or less. People watching. Enjoying a favorite treat. Just BEING in Disneyland makes me happy!

DBF and I will take a ride on the train or monorail. We people watch, we skip all the big rides and do little ones like Winnie the Pooh. We also do shows, shop around, look for hidden Mickey's.

We love riding the train, we will ride the monorail too, especially with no line. I used to like visiting the gallery and still like to walk into the place on MS where they moved the art. I also love looking at the models and concept drawings of DL. So much fun!!

Sherry & mybestie, we do that kind of stuff too. It's so much fun to people watch!!!!! I think it's one of my favorite hobbies. LOL

Oh, DBF loves to shoot target practice too, so we will always stop there and let him waste a few $$. :)

Question about the wine tasting......Is this something you need reservations for or is it just a walk up? Is it only certain times a day?

There are a couple of things that I've been doing lately that I really enjoy.

I like to look at all the vegetation in Tomorrowland because almost all of it is edible (lemons, rosemary, cabbage, etc.)

I also like to try different food out from suggestions here on the board.

I read the thread here about Disney secrets and look out for them around the park (almost like a scavenger hunt :))

I also bought a Nikon and have been trying to get some sweet shots of the parks :)

- Wander Main Street aimlessly, in and out of shops, just enjoying the area.
- Same as above for New Orleans Square
- Sit by the waterfront and watch the Mark Twain, canoes, etc...
- Take pictures of all sorts of things.
- Watch the Dapper Dans, the pirate singers in NOS, and Billy Hill and the Hillbillies
- Sit at the hub on Main Street and watch a little kid. They notice the greatest things that we look right by. I can do this one for hours! You can see the magic in their eyes. :wizard:
