What are your must pack items for WDW?

deordorant for people - baby powder for sneakers
plus other essentials

Everything listed so far is great. Soemthing I always like to take is a multi-tool (i.e. Leatherman). Great for getting those new Disney toys out of the packages when you return to your room and the kids just "have" to play with them immediately. Its amazing how effective those anti-theft precautions are in those packages!! :earseek: All thoe little screws and tie wraps can be difficult, if not impossible to remove at times.

Moleskin can be found in most drug stores and supermarkets in the first aid aisle. It's a sheet of something that better resembles a fuzzy sticker than a band aid. It's sticky on one side, and fuzzy on the other. The thought is, when you feel a blister coming on, or you know where you're blister prone, you stick it to your skin over those spots (not over any open blisters) and it cuts down BIG TIME on the friction so it heads off blisters before they become painful little buggers. ;)

We don't have them in this country, so I was very interested in your reply. We intend to go in a supermarket as soon as we arrive so I will buy some of these too, many thanks. :)

My Pins for Trading of course!! Then all the other stuff.

One thing I never see mentioned oh these boards is Shout wipes. I always take them, because invariably, my DD's or (more likely) my DH spill something on their shirts. The last trip, my DD spilled a Ghiradelli choc shake on her new Minnie shirt! Ok, that spill was too large for the wipes, but the wipes are awesome for the smaller ones!

Here's another vote for moleskins. DD went through an entire pack by herself last trip.
Extra sunglasses
Extra contact lenses
Hydrocortisone cream for rashes and chafing (WDW is the only place this happens to me)
Lots and lots of chapstik

Speaking of chafing, there's a product called Bodyglide which is supposed to eliminate chafing and blisters. I've never used it myself, but I hear it's great. You can find it at stores like REI and EMS. Some people also suggest putting antiperspirant on your feet, and that should help with blisters too.

:worship: A heating pad! By the end of the day, I really need one for my back! Maybe even Therma Care heat wraps for daytime. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

I was TOTALLY going to say Granola Bars. The quick snack is a GREAT pick-me-up when in line or waiting for the parade.

Okay, this is proabably a controversial question, but what exactly can you bring and not bring into MK/AK/MGM/Epcot/US/IOA?

I have a 2 year old who is way too picky. Can I bring her a peanut-butter sandwich in a ziplock bag within a collapsable cooler or backpack with some carrots and raisons added in. Can I bring my wife and I a turkey and cheese sandwich in a ziplock bag. Finally, can I bring some jelly beans in a sandwich bag.

I can go without food for several hours, but I want to enjoy my trip without stressing out in fast food lines staring a menus and prices whenever my wife and daughter say they are hungry.

I've brought food into the parks on every trip for the past couple years. I've never been turned away (though a couple security gaurds checking my bag looked at me screwy a couple times).

Yes, you can bring some PB&J, carrots, raisins. Turkey and Cheese sandwiches are OK too. Jelly beans are OK.

What you can't bring in: A whole rotiserrie turkey with mashed potatoes, green bean casserole plus a whole side of ham and some raw steaks to go along with your grill. Now that's a no-no.

Bring some snacks, they're not going to arrest you, kick you out of your resort, and escort you back to the airplane! :rotfl:

As fas as my must pack items:
moleskin
ziploc bags
cream antiperspirant to prevent chafing (for DH) and for keeping feet dry
a bandana - it doubles as a little towel to dry off after Splash mountain, to mark your stroller, a mini blankie for DS, to cover up DS's face when he's scared on parts of It's Tough to be a Bug, to wipe camera lenses, to wipe off sweat, etc.
extra batteries and battery charger.

Body glide (great for potential blisters).
A small woven basket for the table in our room, a place to put all the stuff that you pull out of your pockets at the end of the day.
A corkscrew.
A short string of colored Italian lights (we call them ‘party lights’) to hang in the room at night. Besides being festive they make a nice nightlite.
Incense for atmosphere.
A pack of playing cards for that essential game of solitaire while you are waiting for everyone else to get dressed. :cool1:

My list of MUST HAVES for a Disney Mom age 28, Disney Dad age 30 and DS age 2
1. sunscreen and lots of it. I buy those little "travel" containers and the one big one. I refill the travel containers every morning before we leave for the parks. (I usually have 2 with me in the parks. One for DS and one for DH and I.
2. Moleskin. Man am I thankful for who ever told us about these things!!
3. Sea bands- again..thank you so much for whoever told me about these. I didn't use them for any rides..but I did use them on the plane and NEVER even felt sick.
4. 3 brita filtered water bottles. Last year we only took 2 and DS took mine and wouldn't give it back. The filters are GREAT..they filter out all the yucky taste in WDW water.
5. digital cam and "film cam". Our digital cam is gREAT ..but doesn't take very good pics at night..so for that I bring the regular 35mm.
6. batteries for both cameras and film for the 35mm. (have you ever tried to buy batteries in WDW..WOW!!! $$$$$)
7. flip flops (when the dogs get tired)
8. antibacterial wipes
9. ponchos get them super cheap from the dollar tree before you go. You can just throw them away when you are done.
10. cell phones
11. zip lock bags
12. chapstick

That's all I can think of right now. this is a great thread!

-Sturdy, broken-in walking shoes
-An insulated, refillable water bottle with a strap- just put it in the freezer at night, and voila, cold water all day and a nice cool bottle for your forehead!
-Uncrustable PB&J sandwiches for snacks. Put a frozen one in each person's fanny pack, and by the time they are hungry, the sandwich is thawed. (buy them in the freezer section of the grocery store. Must have a frig/freezer in your room.)
-Ziplocs (1000 uses, but for the park itself, to cover camera and autograph books when it rains)
-Insurance cards - if one of you gets sick and needs to see a doctor, which has happened to us, you will need this.

HMMM, I'll have to pull out my packing list soon and get busy for my June trip too. :Pinkbounc

Take a very good sun block, and don't forget to get your ankles. My fair skinned DD got sun poisoning on her ankles because of a combination of the sun, and heat generated up from the pavement. Apparently it is not totally uncommon, several of the CM's instructed me to call a local pharmacy to get an ointment to treat her with, and in actuality I found it at the store at BWV. Sorry I don't remember what it was, but if this happens in your group just ask a CM, I'm sure they'll know what I'm talking about.

Lip protections (with at least SPF 15)

Aloe gel (95%+) apply (every 15 minutes if at all possible) if someone gets sunburned, this stuff is a miracle worker.

I probably sound like a sunophobic but I love being in the :sunny: but over the years have learned a healthy respect for it. Getting blisters, sun poisoning, or throwing up from over exposure is no way to spend your Disney vacation.

I am red haired and fair skinned which is a bad combination. I spent the summer in Israel and my first week there I must have missed the backs of my hands and the sides too because they were sunburned badly.

Take some advil because the pain of a sunburn can easily ruin your mood no matter where you are. Get the blue Bannana Boat Aloe Vera Gel with lidocane that stuff works the best. I know unfortunately

I am also very fair and a redhead. I am so susceptible to sunburn that I have begun a collection of Solumbra clothing which has the sunscreen built into the fabric. This cuts down on the sunscreen I have to slather on :)

A good book because you will be standing in line for hours

short sleeved shirts and short-shorts :sunny:

crazy weather stuff like an umbrella, sweatshirt, jeans :cold:

hand sanitzer (mini size or the new micro size that attatches to your belt loop)
single serve Crystal Light tubes (pour 1 into a water bottle)

These are great tips! Keep 'em coming!

What do I bring? My sense of humor, and more importantly, my DH's sense of humor (he has a tendency to get quite cranky--not allowed at WDW!) :teeth:
