What are your go to restaurants?

My go to Resort restaurant is Olivias!!....that is quintessential DVC. The food is always good, and the staff have so many familiar faces

My go to Theme Park restaurant is Teppan Yaki Steakhouse

My Go to Disney Springs restaurant has been Raglan Road..... (it may soon be Morimotos)

Planning for our 7th trip and as our ADRs approach I feel like we are in a bit of a rut with dining. What are your go to restaurants? Do you try new places each trip?

We have our "must dos" but we also really try to get a few NEW ones in each trip. Admittedly it gets harder every trip because the gang falls in love with a new place and that gets added to the must do list.

We like to hit
Biergarten
50's Prime Time
Ohana

pretty much every trip.

Big River Grille almost every trip ( we are BCV owners, so hop and a skip across the boardwalk )

We also like
Rose & Crown
Le Cellier
San Angel Inn
Be our Guest ( lunch better than dinner for us )
Tusker House
Sanaa
Jiko
and if you can swing it, I highly recommend checking out the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue.

On our next trip, we plan on checking out Skipper Canteen ( we didn't last time cause we were a big gang and at the time, they didn't take TiW ) and some new ones at Disney Springs, probably the Boathouse, maybe Art Smith's Homecoming and Blaze pizza.

I have been going to Disney World for long time! I have seen quality of food go down, way down. I guess this is due in part to free dining plan. A lot of time it while depends on what resort we are staying. Lately we have ventured outside Disney to get a good meal. We do character meals when the grandchildren are with us.
This next trip is only me and DW we plan to do late breakfast, back to room for awhile then wander over to one of the parks, some fast passes and dinner later on. No rush no fuss a very slow pace; what a vacation use to be!

Sadly, I am using the "who runs it' method to pick restaurants. Along with the "are they on the DDP"?

Basically at this point if Disney runs it and it's a one credit on DDP, I run! If Disney runs it and it's called LeCellier, I run. (biggest rip off at Disney and that's a crowded competition) Disney dining at a the one credit places rarely rises above just OK. If I do eat at one I stick to the appetizers which since they aren't on the DDP do still seem to allow for some creativity and decent options. (I guess since they have to sell them they have to have some good ideas!)

My go-to are places in Disney Springs and at the Swan/Dolphin. We liked Boathouse and Paddlefish.

Our rule is to try at least one new restaurant each trip. Next trip we are wanting to try Homecomin' and food at Beaches and Cream (we only ever do ice cream).

We do Ohana every trip (DH and DS favorite) and a frequent stop is House of Blues (I love their Lobster Mac and Cheese).

It might have been b/c we were starving -- but the grilled cheese with tomato soup at B&C was REALLLLLLLY good.

For us it's The Brown Derby. There they serve the original Cobb salad, which is much different from the "Cobb salads" served in other restaurants. It is so finely chopped that you could describe it as "riced" and eat it with a spoon, and the taste is heavenly. Other dishes are also good, but that Cobb salad takes this restaurant over the top for us.

do they have bar seating at the brown derby? I'd like to try the cobb salad, but would feel bad taking up a seat to just order that by myself.

We enjoy Olivia's and always try to have at least breakfast there. Trail's End is a long-time favorite even though it can be challenging to get there. We also enjoy Homecomin' and want to try more of the eateries at Disney Springs.

Signature:
Artist Point - Though it had a couple of inconsistent years, AP is back on track as a superb dining experience. Excellent food, very good service, topnotch wine list, and one of the most romantic restaurants in the World.
Jiko's - To be fair, we don't hit this place every trip, but we do most times. Again, food, service, and ambiance are top tier. Their wine list is excellent, reportedly having one of the best collections of S. African wines in the state.
TS:
Sanaa - We rarely skip this gem as the bread service alone is worth the effort it takes to get there. Friendly service, views of the animals (during daylight hours), and overall tasty food. Cost is relatively moderate relative to Disney overpricing.

Ditto the bread service at Sanaa, along with the savanna view.

Problem for us Brits is that authentic Naan bread is at every Indian restaurant which are all over , at $4 per bread, so not so unusual for us, albeit the varied dips look good.

It's everywhere here also - Washington, DC area. But it may be special for some people who may not live in a cosmopolitan area.

And, not everybody eats out all the time. I don't anymore.

We have two must dos every trip. One is Boma (sometimes multiple meals) and the other is we go to the lounge at Sanaa and get the bread service and adult beverages. Other than that we like to try new things.

We do Tusker House breakfast pretty much every trip. Both because DH and DS are Donald fans and because I think it's the best breakfast a Disney.

We do have other favorites but we also usually try at least one new place each trip. Last time we tried Yak and Yeti and it was awful. :) Next time we're finally hitting up Be Our Guest.

We have a list of favorites that we will switch up and make sure we hit:
Brown Derby (for the Cobb Salad)
California Grill
Via Napoli (we go here for lunch every single trip)
Boma breakfast

Always:
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Wolfgang Puck Express
Brown Derby

Never again:
Grand Floridian Café
Ohana (Breakfast or Dinner)

Just curious why "never again" on Grand Floridian Cafe, as it's one of our hidden gems? To me it's like The Wave - generally overlooked and not usually inspiring strong opinions.

We ended up at BlueZoo for the first time last trip (Flying Fish was expected to be closed, and its been a go to - it was open, but after we'd made plans). And we left saying "why didn't we do that sooner!" It was reasonably priced for the quality of food (and the fact that its at Disney), truly good, and the service was excellent.

Jiko is also on the go to list.

I suspect with the revitalized DTD, we will be trying more DTD restaurants in the future.

Both times we ate at GFC for breakfast. The service was terrible. The food tasted bland and was cold. That's all four of our meals. There are too many great places to eat in WDW to give the GFC a third chance.

Wow. Sorry that happened. That would be a "never again" for me, too!

mixed reviews for us also at GFC during F&W. 2 years ago went for late lunch, all 4 of us loved food and service. We went back next year, food was blah and service awful. Don't want to go back.
