Looking for some gift ideas for a college graduation celebration. The graduate is a 22 year old female. Suggestions?

Cash

If she is on track for a professional job, I'd get her a really nice black fancy yet understated designer handbag that can fit make-up and an iPad-type device.

Gift card for a resume specialist: They have changed in two years alone! The things people want to see now are VASTLY different from five years ago.

Gift card for clothes: Macy's, Bloomingdales, etc. When I finished college, I needed to dress better for work.

Depending on if the grad is me: Jewelry in her style. It is so nice to have one or two "go-to" pieces of fine jewelry to remind me of my accomplishments.

Cash is my go-to gift for pretty much everything.

Cash or gift cards for new clothes for a work wardrobe.

My niece is graduating college in May and I am giving her a check. Plus, I was in the Dollar Tree and they had a cute wine glass painted with "Congrats" "
good Job" etc. I am going to fill it with candy as an extra gift.

Cash...always fits, never neds to be returned.

Luggage..I always figure once a kid graduates from college, they might be doing a little travelling. I did a fair amount of travelling in my 20s and my parents had given me luggage for college graduation so it was a well-used gift.

I definitely see the trend here! Maybe I can do money and then something else small. I don't know why, but I don't love giving money. I know it'll be appreciated, but I always want to find something more personal.

First 3 months rent at new apartment as the graduate starts full time employment.

We're giving my 22 year old SIL $$.

However, arranging for her diploma to be framed might be nice.

Another vote for cash if you want to give anything besides a card. Which would be this cheap dude's go-to graduation gift, except that Mrs. Tex is more open-handed.

Cash for sure! If you want to do another small something maybe a frame for the diploma, or a personalized picture frame. One of my aunts got me a cute personalized stationary pad with my name.

Money. If you really want to get something more personal maybe add something edible like a nice box of chocolates, wine, gift certificate to dinner. Very few recent college graduates need more "stuff" and the chances that they will be moving sometime in the near future are pretty high, that stuff is likely to end up in the trash or a yard sale. No one really needs a mug that says Congratulations 2012 Graduate
