On DS's 9th birthday this past Feb. we went on POTC. He asked the CM if they remembered to say "Good Morning" to George. The CM was teasing him and saying he couldn't remember if he did or didn't. He asked the other CM and she said she wasn't there. He saw DS's birthday, wished him happy birthday as DS was getting on the boat and told him he hoped it wasn't his last birthday. As the ride started, I quietly called out George a few times while DS told me to stop. The ride was uneventful until...we were the next boat to disembark and the ride stops. And DS starts crying. I, being the compassionate mother that I am, am cracking up laughing. We are literally stuck there for over 20 minutes. They push all of the boats behind us out but we are stuck on a conveyer belt so we can't go anywhere. The people in the boat in front of us can just climb to the front of the boat and walk out. But for our boat, they have to get a portable bridge. And who do you think was the CM helping us out? That's right, the one who told DS he hoped it wasn't his last birthday. I reminded him of this when we got off and he said, "I was kidding!" It was pretty funny! DS did like seeing the back sides of Disney and seeing where the parade floats were stored. And the CM giving out FOTL tickets gave him double since it was his birthday. But he swears he will never get on POTC again, even when he is an adult (which, according to Disney will be next year when he turns 10!)
