What are your favorite pies - but can't eat without having digestive issues?

Are there any pies - or fruit - that you love, but can't eat because they cause digestive issues for you?

I used to love blueberry pie - my absolute favorite - but can no longer eat it because it hurts my stomach so much.. Feels like a big ball of lead sitting in my stomach.. Last week I bought some blueberry nutri-grain bars - figuring they might be okay, but that was a dismal failure as well..

I wish I knew what the problem was with the blueberries.. I could understand if it was a fruit that contains a lot of acid, but it's not..

Are there any fruit pies that you can't eat?

I also can't drink orange juice - unless I have some sort of bread or muffin with it.. Otherwise it feels like I chugged a glass of acid..

I absolutely love peaches, but I can't eat them. I get hives if I do.

I can't drink orange juice or eat oranges. The acid tears me up. I have to be very careful with fresh tomatoes.

Why can't I be allergic to hominy. I hate hominy.

I don't get the whole blueberry thing with me.. What an odd fruit to bother my stomach so much.. It's not acidic - like the orange juice..:confused3 Wish I could find a way to tolerate it because I would LOVE a nice, big, cold slice of blueberry pie!!! :headache:

Have you tried to eat just fresh blueberries? The pie and the fruit bars have a lot of other junk in them that could be causing problems. Not saying it isn't the blueberries but you won't really know until you eat them plain. For a long time, my son couldn't eat strawberries. He seems to have outgrown that, thankfully.

Yes - I've tried fresh blueberries as well and it's a "no go".. Guess it's just one of those weird flukes that I have to live with.. Funny thing is that up until I became an adult, I had no problems with blueberries at all..:headache:

Bummer! I developed food allergies as an adult. I used to be able to eat all types of shell fish and now just the smell is enough to cause my throat to swell up. Go figure.

Do you have other allergies? Sometimes that's how my egg white allergy presents, just an tummy ache that goes right through to my back. You could always try an antihistamine before eating, that actually works for me if I really really want something with egg in it :)

And yes, I miss Lemon Meringe pies :(

No food allergies that I'm aware of - just a whole bunch of meds - which also came "out of the blue"..

Of course if that's the WORST problem I have in life, I'm doing pretty darn good - LOL.. I just find it strange - and wondered if others had issues with fruits too - that aren't really "allergic" reactions..

I can eat a teeny, tiny piece of lemon meringue pie - and I DO mean "teeny tiny"..;)
