What are your favorite "off menu" items to order?

Never could understand... there are literally hundreds of on-menu choices. Unless there are food alergies or special dietary restrictions, what is the big push for asking for something special? Because we paid a lot and we deserve it? Perhaps its just old-school, but there are plenty of items to make someone more than happy w/o having to feel like there is a need for something special.
