What are your favorite cooking shows?

I like Chopped. I used to watch Top Chef, but I got tired of all the drama they continually added to the competition.

I used to enjoy The Taste with Anthony Bourdain but that one hasn't been on in a long time. Forgot about Cutthroat Kitchen, another favorite of mine.

I watch more cooking shows on YouTube now. Food Wishes by Chef John is my favorite. Another one I like is Tasty--it's like Twitter for cooking. Really short videos--they give you a recipe in 1-2 minutes and do 3-4/day.

I'm enjoying seeing Paula Deen back with Positively Paula.
I really miss Nigella Lawson's shows.
They're not cooking shows, but I also really miss Rachael Ray's shows $40 A Day, Tasty Travels and Vacation.

Ooooh - I :lovestruc LOVE the Tasty videos! I've made lots of them - with prep and cooking time, some of them have actually taken hours! I think I like them so much because they are a nostalgic reminder of the "Kraft hands" commercials that fascinated me during my childhood.

On the Food Network, I always record and watch Pioneer Woman and Trisha Yearwood. I have tried several of their recipes and liked them. I also enjoy Worst Cooks and Worst Cooks Celebrity Edition. I will watch The Kitchen if I catch it when its on.

On PBS, I did recently find America's Test Kitchen and started recording that. I enjoyed Martha Stewart's cooking lessons and always watched those, but haven't seen them lately.

I hate all the competition shows. Just not interesting to me. I love Jamie Oliver - he has several great series and you really learn about cooking from them. Also like Martha Stewart's cooking lessons.

On youtube I've been watching Mind Over Munch. The videos are not too long and the recipes I've made from the videos have all turned out really well.

I like most of the true "cooking shows." But, I can't stand the competition shows!

I like to watch Valerie Bertenelli and Trisha Yearwood. They both tend to make "normal" dishes with "normal" ingredients. There are many times I"m watching a cooking show and never heard of half the stuff they are using. I think Food Network has jumped the shark and is more competition now instead of showing their viewers cooking methods. I actually would like a show where they take normal meals and dress them up some or show ways how to change it up.

Thank you for mentioning Valerie's show, I caught the end of one yesterday and I like her style! It's now on my DVR lineup.

I love Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay. The other show I find myself watching is Carnival Eats on the Cooking Channel. The host is Noah Cappes and he's pretty funny and entertaining. It's obviously a light-hearted show. I miss the old Alton Brown show Good Eats, though.

I believe it is a seasonal spin off from Cupcake Wars, but I never miss an episode of Halloween Wars.

I also like the original Iron Chef... the one dubbed over in English.

I love almost all of the cooking shows. It's what we watch most of the time. But I'm not a fan of Cutthroat kitchen. That's what's on now. And I'm not a fan of that Damiano guy. I swear he's on every competition show. What's up with all the recycled competitors? :confused3

Top Chef. I've not missed a single episode since it's inception.

Yeah, I don't understand why so many cable networks have gone to this format of running the same show all evening; it's not just Food Network. Some of them even repeat the same episode every second or third hour...weird and I can't imagine it's actually good for viewership.

I like Top Chef too! I DVR the show and watch it after the fact.

Toss up here between the Galloping Gourmet with Graham Kerr and the French Chef with Julia Child.
Actually, the Cooking in Concert on PBS with the two of them was amazing.
Kerr of course, unlike his early years, is a health nut.
Julia, however believed the more butter and cream you ate, the longer you would live.
Kerr would put a teaspoon of butter in the pan, and Julia would come up behind him and put the WHOLE stick in.

I miss the old shows! On Saturday afternoons I liked to watch the cooking shows on CPTV.

Julia
Galloping Gourmet
Jacques Pepin
Cooking with Mig
The Frugal Gourmet
Natalie Dupree
Justin Wilson
Cooking with Lidia

I liked Live with Sara Moulton
Emeril Live

I still love the reruns with Jacques and Julia. SHe was my hero, actually and I always believe the same as she did
"A party without cake is just a meeting"

I used to like The Iron Chef and Anne Burrell's hair. I don't know if either show is still on.

I loved the original Iron Chef!!!

I liek Chopped, Top Chef, Cake Wars. I never missed an episode of Good Eats.

I can distinctly remember watching him (on CBC in black and white) when I was a pre-schooler! :goodvibes

America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country, both on PBS. Love the shows, the magazines and the websites.

ATK/Cook's Country is probably my favorite. But I'm not really interested in watching episodes without Christopher Kimball.

The new shows have a different feel but I'm trying to give them a chance. Christopher Kimball's new project is called, Milk Street Kitchen. I'm not crazy about the magazine but I'm looking forward to the show.

I love Chopped and Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I used to watch Giada and Tyler Florence. I learned a lot of technique from both of them.

I miss all the old cooking shows, too. The ones you mentioned along with Madeleine Kamman, Carlo Middione (Carlo Cooks Italian), Nick Stellino, Ming Tsai, Martin Yan, Maryann Esposito, The Two Fat Ladies, James Barber (The Urban Peasant) Lucinda Scala Quinn (Mad Hungry)....... so many great shows I could list. These days, there's not as many good, solid, cooking shows. Too many contests and competitions! I do watch The Pioneer Woman and Barefoot Contessa sometimes. I watch Tia Mowery. I do watch Top Chef and I also watch any and all of Gordon Ramsay's shows. I understand that the f word is supposed to be coming out here, hope it's as good as the BBC version. I also prefer Master Chef Junior and Chopped Junior to the adult versions.

At any rate, I really miss the old school cooking shows. Too bad there's not a channel with just all those shows on it!
