I have got to second The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. That is a wonderful book.

"Horton Hatches the Egg" by Dr. Seuss.

When I was a preschooler my mother used to volunteer in the library at my brothers' school and I'd go with her, and she'd always read this book to me because it was my favorite. When I had my DSs, I bought it and read it to them too. I love the moral of this story

I loved older Judy Blume, like Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, and other ones.

I have 2....

Hi, Pizza Man!! It's a really cute story and we don't even need the book to "act" it out.

The other one, a tear jerker, is The Kissing Hand. I get teary-eyed every time I read it.

I'll have to find "The Giving Tree". I'm not familiar with that one.
