What are your family holiday traditions?

Well, a family ornament is another tradition we have!!! We have a lot more traditions than I thought!:rotfl: We always get at least one ornament for the entire family that has something to do with our year. This year we added 2 new ornaments. We got a Montana one (actually 2 because after I bought the first one I found another one I liked better) for our vacation to Montana this past summer. And, we got a Toy Story one at WDW when we were there for DS's 18th birthday since I did his birthday in a Toy Story theme.

I wonder how many more traditions I'm going to realize we have?:confused3

Lisa, more hugs to you and Megan. I can't imagine getting through regular old days, let alone holidays.

One of my traditions is to give Morgan the daughter Hallmark ornament every year. I missed it last year :( But I bought early this year!

Hugs for both you and Megan. It has to be soooo hard.

Our tradition is to do our inlaws on christmas eve. I would always leave a note and pjs from santa to be hung on the tree when we left. MA would come and do that. So now I have to purposely leave my camera behind and play the game....OH I forgot my camera....shoot....let me run back in and get it. That is when I hang the pjs and note on the tree. And the note says.....
Hi John, I came to leave your gifts. trying to get an early start, but I see you are still having dinner with Uncle M and Auntie M. You were a good boy this year. Here are some cozy pjs for tonight. "I'll be back!!!" and blah blah blah ....
I usually write stuff about things he has done that year on it too. I type it all up so he does not recognize my handwriting.

Oh I totally forgot we read the Cajun Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve.

Gotta have a little redneck thrown in every now and then. :lmao:

I love this thread too!

I didn't realise you don't all have crackers over there!:scared1: we've had all sorts over the years, from some very deluxe ones my mum bought (before kids!) to really cheap ones so the kids can have as many as they like. But whatever the rubbishy gift there alwasy seems to be an argument, especially with only one girl and 5 boys trying to swap "girly" gifts - luckily mummies and grannies are also happy to swap!

We have Crackers. I get them for the kids sometimes, not very often though because they aren't really easy to find. But I have seen them!

We usually find ours at the Christmas Tree Shop. They have a few different sizes (prices) - I usually go for the biggest ones, since even in those, the toys are tiny. But everyone does wear the paper crowns. I did skip getting any this year - we don't do the crackers every year (but most - and on Christmas Eve) - I'll probably hear about that omission later!

A few years ago, I did also buy the supplies (online) to make my own. Did that for a bit, too and have stuff still left, but...ah....next year!

Tuesday Morning always has the Christmas crackers. That's usually where I buy them. I've seen them at Sears before, but not every year. I've also ordered online before. I didn't buy any this year as I still had some left from last year.
