What are your children wearing on their feet?

DS 6 will be bringing Tevas (Terri Fi) and New Balance sneakers.
I bought the Tevas a month or so ago so he could break them in. He thinks they're super comfy.

DS 10 wore his teva sandals but I had his sneakers in my bag just in case! DH and I wore our sneakers. I would suggest a good supportive sandal that has some cushioned bottom to abosrb the shock on the feet.

Good Luck, happy planning and have a great trip!

The last time I ordered the Lands End sandles for my DDs, they hated them!

My girls live in Reef Flip flops. They have several pairs that they take to WDW with them. They have never complained about their feet while wearing them.

They hate to wear sneakers, especially in the summer. There is nothing worse then hot, wet feet....which will happen if you are out during an afternoon thunderstorm!

I bought Crocs, sneakers, and a pair of dress shoes (for Character Dining) for DD (almost 3). Yup, I've gone totally overboard! Mind you, I only wear sneakers myself because it's the only way to me to be comfy (although I hate sneakers!). I've been considering getting Crocs for me but can't figure out if they are REALLY that comfy. :confused3

Children and adults should both be wearing supportive, comfortable shoes.
Investing in a good pair of sneakers is worth it. It amazes me when I see women walking around a park in their high heeled sandals and their kids in flip flops. They are lying when they tell you their feet don't hurt. Flip flops are for the beach. They can come off when a child is on a ride, running around, etc.

Me and dd's 12 and 3 wear Sketcher tennis shoes. I love the shape of them they are so comfy.

For the parks sneakers: Dd (9) she has Adidas running sneakers and ds (5) he has NB running sneakers and also Nike running sneakers.

We will bring their sandals to change into if it starts to rain while in the park and change back to sneakers once the rain stops.

Also bringing flip flops for the pool.

Another Lands' End action sandals lover here. My girls have worn them ALL summer, including several, long on-our-feet-all-day days, and they have never complained. My only complaints are that they tend to start smelling when they get dirty and the light pink color is very hard to keep clean. At any rate, we will buy them again. And I plan to make sure they both have very comfortable, broken-in tennis shoes for our trip as well.

Although...I did just buy my DD6 her first pair of Crocs. I don't care for them for myself, but she's very happy. :thumbsup2

I found a pair of Superman airwalks for my DS3. It is the only pair of shoes he will wear! I had to go buy a second pair because the first will probably be worn out by the time we go!

I bought my kids (4 1/2, 6) crocs just for the WDW trip. I took other shoes just in case but NEVER needed them. They wore their crocs for 7 days straight and not ONE complaint about their feet.

Yes, I hate to see women walking around the park in high heels...that confounds me! I know that some of them must be locals who are there for a nice meal or date or something...
As far as the flip flops go, I say whats comfortable for one may not be for another. My dd says her flip flops feel great. I couldn't wear them myself though.

If you check out the crocs website, it will tell you where they are sold in your area. In my area, they are only sold at these random small boutique types of stores (and a sport/fish store), most of which you'd never guess sold them unless they were out in the window display.

My boys (2 and 4) love their crocs. They don't have a problem putting them on or keeping them on. However, beware that it is easy for them to trip and fall while running in them. My preschool does not allow the children to wear them for just that reason.

We will probably bring the crocs and sneakers. I think I'm going to check out those LE Action sandals though because of the whole "trip and fall" issue with the crocs. Better do it now so they have time to break them in!

I'll probably bring Tevas and sneakers. I tried on some of the regular Crocs and they didn't fit my feet. I'm a 7. The 6/7 was too small (my toes were touching the top of the shoe) and the 8/9 were too big. I haven't tried on the flip flop version yet though, but I think I'd like them if they fit. My store was out in my size when I was there last time.

myself and dd are the type that love openness, air on their feet in the summer. If I could walk around barefoot all day (and not get injured or in trouble at work) I probably would

We went in May of 2006 with 3 kids and 3 pairs of crocs! Kids were 3, 5, and 6 for the trip--and I agree with the poster who initially thought "$30 for those things made out of recycled junk?" LOL Worth every penny!

Our little one NEVER keeps shoes on (in fact, during 2005 trip when she was 2, she went through all 4 parks bare foot--it was awful!), but she loves her crocs!

Very light weight
Super comfortable
Perfect for airline travel (they don't make you take them off, and even they do, they are so easy to slip back on)
Can go on and off water rides
Great for kids/adults with wide feet

And yes, I wore mine all through the parks, too. Though I did switch to my Tevas when we got back to the resort.

We are going in November. The kids are all wearing good tennis shoes and socks. Hubby is wearing crocs. I am debating...heh I don't like tennis shoes with outfits ...but you can very well wear ''cute shoes'' and walk 8576 miles a day either. And well, I will say hubby's crocs are mega comfy but also...not so cute :D

We alternated between crocs and sneakers. One DS prefers socks with his crocs. He says they feel too "bumpy" without them.

i am not a believer in sandles with hard core walking. Our last trip my foot was broken by another guest and I was wearing hard leather shoes... I cannot imagine how bad it would have been had I been in open shoes.

My youngest is only 1... he doesnt like anything that touches his feet... he may wear some see kai run shoes or some robbies. He will be in arms the whole time though.

My older child will wear his chucks or his nike shocks

I will wear my birk shoes (with hard leather uppers) or some other full sports/walking shoe
