what are your best money saving tips for WDW?

Our last 2 trips we went to the outlet for souvenirs. Kids did spend there own money but they all found something they liked for much less than in the parks.

I say save as much as you can before going so that you can splurge on vacation.
Who wants to eat string cheese, gummies, and PB&J from home when you can have Mickey bars, funnel cakes, pop corn, candy apples, fudge...from the stores/carts in the parks?

:thumbsup2 my thoughts exactly

We are also staying offsite at Bonnet Creek. It was originally an all girls trip so we had a room booked at the Dolphin...my DH decided to join us which meant we had to book another room for a total of over $3,000 for 7 nights. Did some research and chose a two bedroom condo at Bonnet Creek and saved us over $2,000. We will not cook much, but will have breakfast, sandwiches, snacks, etc. in our condo.

I also signed up for the Amtrak credit card which game us points for tickets. I booked two roomettes round trip just on my points. Meals are also included in our train tickets-so no cost there.

My daughters (+ one friend) are adults, but we still pay for their hotel, tickets, and sit down restaurant meals. I give them each a $50 GC which they are allowed to spend however they choose-snacks, souveniers, etc.

I buy all my gift cards at our local Giant Eagle, which also gives us fuel perks. It costs over $100 for my husband to fill up his truck, so that is $100 saved for our trip.

We are renting a car while there....we used my husband's CC points to get a Hertz voucher for $50 off.

I also scrimp and save as much as I can while planning a trip....I take on extra tutoring jobs, sell on ebay, have garage sales, etc.

We don't all out splurge while we are at Disney, but we also don't like to worry about money. I have a budget and generally stick to it. We make it work for us.

Question: Is it ok to bring picknick lunch into the parks?

Any rules or guidelines about brining your own food into the parks?

Seems to me there is plenty of $avings to be had on food.....

:woohoo:

You can't bring large coolers or hard sided coolers into the parks. And no glass. Beyond that, you can definately pack your own lunches and bring them. Also, no straws in Animal Kingdom

No alcohol either.
