What are your 10 worst restaurants at WDW?

One really jumps to mind--Hollywood and Vine.
Icky setting, icky food. And in case you might think I'm a food snob--love 50's Prime Time that is next door.

When did Alfredo's close? We ate in the TS restaurant in Italy in Jan 2006 and I can't remember if it was Alfredo's or the new Italian restaurant. Wondering if TS in Italy is worth a try again because we were unimpressed previously. Hoping we have not yet tried the new Italian restaurant.

I only have 2 and they weren't awful, but I won't be back:
Pecos Bill's
Les Chefs de France

Funny, I see Big River Grille mentioned ALOT and we had an enjoyable meal there (however it was late, we were starving and the wait for Spoodles was 2 hours!)

Do not have ten, but here places that I think are the worst

Hollywood and vine: I am a picky eater, but this food was way to bland

Tony's: just yuck

Liberty Tree Tavern: Food was dry and lacking flavor

andy Counter service at Hollywood studios: enough said

CRT: yep, didn't enjoy, food not worth the money, but entertainment was ok,

Hollywood and Vine- nasty, nasty, nasty- multiple this by 5

Nine Dragons- not worth a damn, rather go to Panda Express

That Italian place that use to be at Epcot- rather go to Fagoli's

Rainforest Cafe- now that changed the menu I can't stand it

Big River whatever at Boardwalk

Planet Hollywood

Ohana -- poor quality food, terrible entertainment, no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I wouldn't say they are horrible but lets put it this way I won't be dining there this trip

Sci-Fi (service was horrible)
Garden Grill (it was OK)
Planet Hollywood (not worth pay OPP or wasting a TS on DDP)
Tony's--(expected more food selection)
RFC (we usually go for the kids)

Hmmm....I guess we just have low expectations also because I've never had a horrible meal at Disney. I'm not a picky eater though. By the time I sit down to a restaurant I'm starving so everything is good to me! :lmao:

I am so frightened! I have booked Liberty Tree Dinner and Sci Fi for our trip. This is our first one...and now I am panicking!!! I want everything to be perfect...as every visitor does...but as I have been planning this forever...I feel I will let my family down if they are really that bad. Should I change them to something else? I thought my kids would love Sci-Fi atmosphere...but I don't want to be eating crappy food! LOL

Now I am so upset that I have H&V booked with the Fantasmic dinning package! I love Primetime, but it wasn't part of the package and we were aiming at eliminating some wait time for my 2 year old. Clearly H&V is not popular with others on the DIS.

Don't worry. We did H&V for our Fantasmic package because it was the only thing available. There is plenty of variety but it's all bland. Plus, I just really don't like buffets and that is why I listed it as our worst. It's also really loud in there but we are two adults so are probably a bit more sensitive about that. I'd go, enjoy the dinner as much as possible and then enjoy Fantasmic.

Research says: YES!

Studies show that a customer with a good experience will only tell 1 or 2 people about the good/positive experience whereas a customer that has had a bad/poor experience will tell 10 times as many people.

It's human nature to share with others when you have been wronged/disappointed.

That's why I won't talk about a bad experience unless someone asks me. However, I DO talk up a good experience as much as possible in the hopes that others will enjoy it also. I do enjoy being contrary! :goodvibes

I was thinking about this the other day and asked DH what he thought. He agreed that H&V were not good. He said he also didn't care for Restaurant Marrakesh. We both love Moroccan but thought this was only so-so. The food was "ish" and the service was horrific! We had to literally hunt down our server and he acted resentful when he finally came back to our table. The restaurant is beautiful and the entertainment good, but "ish" food and bad service outweigh those positives. As much as I love the Morocco pavilion, I'll NEVER go back.

We also didn't enjoy lunch at Tusker House back when it was a CS. We also didn't like Cosmic Ray's at MK or Rosie's All-American Cafe at MGM. I guess you could say we didn't like any of the CS we ate except at Epcot.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but there is no place in WDW that I wouldn't eat again. I certainly have favorites (many of which are listed here as worst :rotfl: ) but maybe I'm just not picky. I think that when I'm on vacation, I'm just so darn thankful to not have to cook it and clean it up, that I enjoy most anything. My mom always laughs at me because she says that she lives to eat and I eat to live. There just isn't much food that thrills me or that I don't like. It's all just food to me. The only exceptions to that are peanut butter and chocolate:rotfl:

Sci Fi, hands down. I don't think STudios has any really good TS meals.

LeCellier is over hyped -- not horrible, jusy not worth the counting down seconds & speed dialing to get reservation craze

I likd Cindy's, but for many I think it falls into the same catergory as LeCellier -- difficult to get & food isn't as spectacular as the hype --

1st trip to WDW in October. Here is a prediction from worst to best, not counting CS, based upon everybody's lists.

1. Sci-Fi - Lunch;
2. Akershus - Lunch;
3. LTT - Dinner;
4. Coral Reef - Dinner;
5. Bomas-Dinner.

I didn't listen to the guide books, the allears ratings, nope I was stubborn, so let me pass on sage advice --- really re-think SciFi!

No idea how a theme park can screw up fast food burgers, but McDs is a better meal and the service was so poor -- not anywhere near Dis standards -- and the lack of table space was annoying. I thought others over exaggerate the space issue, but it is really bad (Yeah, I HAD to eat in a car). None of my family enjoyed it.

Akershus -- If you have little princesses & are attending character meal who cares about quality?

Coral Reef -- I think it is overhyped so folks go in with high expectations

BOMA -- We loved it. I was skeptical. This one will always be hit or miss -- to some too different, to others not unique enough.

This is our first trip to Disney and kids were excited about the Sci-Fi. After seeing it on a majority of people's lists here...should I cancel that and maybe pick up the Brown Derby Fantasmic Package if one is still available? Thoughts and opinions???

I would not cancel any restaurant adventure from others opinions. I have a few restaurants that are on our do not go back list but their are others here who think those places are just fine. The old rule "to each his own" applies very well when discussing Disney dining. You should go to Sci-Fi thinking your are going to enjoy it. You may not in the end or you may think it is a great place but only you can and should decide.

Have a great vacation.

If you think your kids will enjoy it, stick with it. Everyone has different opinions. We think LeCellier is top-notch, a lot of people think it overrated. We hate and refuse to ever go to Hollywood & Vine again, a lot of people think it is great. We did not care for Brown Derby and it is expensive and if on dining plan it is two credits per person. We haven't done Sci-Fi in years (since our kids were little) and they really enjoyed the whole set up, theme, etc.

I forgot to add that we really did not enjoy CRT. We had dinner there and while we loved the setting and the service was good, the food was absolutely not. This was in 2005 so before all of the weird changes they have made in terms of cost and booking policy. I definitely wouldn't go back again unless we had little ones who needed to see the princesses.

And I agree with previous posters who have said not to change a ressie based on someone else's opinion. I have ALWAYS wanted to eat at San Angel Inn because of the setting and we are doing the DxDP on our next trip so we booked it. Yes, reviews are uniformly horrible regarding food, service and setting but we are still going to do it. Even if the food and service are less than stellar, I will be able to finally get what I've been wanting for almost 20 years. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised with the food/service; maybe not. Either way, I get to dine near a volcano!

We love the San Angel Inn! I really don't know why so many people hate it. Now the food at CRT-I can't think of any entree more disgusting than Major Domo's Pie! ICK!

I'm a Disney newbie, having only been once so far, so I only have a couple for the list.

Mama Melrose for dinner (good service and so-so food)
Chef Mickey's for dinner (had me wishing I was a Golden Coral)
