I've never eaten at Tony's and I consistently hear reports about how bad it is. Why can't they get their act together?! They've got an ideal location and atmosphere and my 10 year-old can make a decent pot of spaghetti!
I wish they'd improve. The concept is so great!!
This is slightly off-topic, 'cause I'm not bashing restaurants, but I wanted to add a plate of "fresh perspective"...
We ate at Tony's Friday night and we were quite happy with it... Yes, it was expensive, but it's table service in the MK, right on Main Street, and we don't eat there very often so it's ok. We had ADRs and were seated with only a ten-minute wait. Our server was quick and very friendly, checked on us often, and cared about our stated menu requirements, enough to send out a chef to make specific recommendations.
We started with the "Tastes of Italy" appetizer, and it was VERY good, with enough variety to keep the four of us interested (and eating). I had the seafood diavolo and it was excellent (especially since they held the mussels at my request). The others in my party had spaghetti and meatballs (a huge order, couldn't finish it), chicken parmigiana (another good meal!), and a special-order low-cholesterol, low-fat order of steamed salmon and veggies (a bit bland, perhaps, but that's what happens on a low-everything diet).
We weren't on the
DDP and the total came to around $110.
That's a LOT more than I'm used to paying for Italian food, but again, you have to consider the location. What we got was amply portioned, well presented and (except for the steamed salmon) very tasty.
