I just finished The Gate House and now I am reading Firefly Lane. I needed a lighter book after the gate House which I loved.

I finished "The Queen's Fool", yesterday and loved it! While I'm waiting for my next hold at the library, I started "Kingdom Keepers II: Disney at Dawn." I hope it's as good as the first one.

I am reading the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, thanks to this thread. Love them, on book 4 now and have 5 &6 on hold at the library!

I work at our local library, and our Reader's Advisor told me I just had to read "Plum Spooky". I read it, and was hooked. I started with the "in between" books and have graduated to the Plum series. I agree, I love them!

I will start Still Alice tonight. I just finished The Space Between Us - nothing exciting, but a pleasant read. It is set in India & it makes you think about the different social classes in the same country.

The book about Dagney Taggert and Hank Reardon, that shall remain "un-named". ;)

While I am waiting for the next Stephanie Plum's to become available at the library, I am finishing off the Lily Bard series by Charlaine Harris. Finishing up Shakespeare's Counselor now.

I am enjoying Still Alice. I'm about half way through. Very touching & heart wrenching.

I'm currently reading Roxanne St. Claire - The Bullet Catcher series. I really like them but I think I'm on my last one. I hate when that happens. :headache:

I also found those free Kindle books. I down loaded about 15 books in 2 days. :rotfl2: I yelled at the guy who sits next to me at work for not sharing about the free books. He got his Kindle a month before me so he's an expert in my eyes. :rolleyes1:lmao: Good thing he is very laid back. :rotfl2:

"The Secret Life of Bees", by Sue Monk Kidd.

This is the 3rd time I've started this book. For some reason, I've never seemed to finish it, but I am going to this time!!

I hope you will - it's a great story and one of my favorites!!!

I'm about to start The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb, and am also in the process of re-reading Angels and Demons. I want to be refreshed on the story when the movie comes out

I really liked this book, but I didn't like her book "The Mermaid Chair."

Just finished "Highway to Hell", the third book in the Maggie Quinn: Girl vs. Evil series by Rosemary Clement-Moore. It's sort of a Nancy Drew meets Buffy the Vampire slayer concept... very entertaining and well written. :thumbsup2

This sounds good! I love this thread!! :thumbsup2

Finished Still Alice - very touching & emotional book. Now reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

I'm breezing through another Heather Graham supernatural mystery/romance on the Kindle. I swear, this thing has increased my reading speed incredibly! Hard to believe, I have spent $50 on Kindle books in two weeks (thanks to my bank check card rewards program, free), lol. After the pair of cool Sanuk flip flops I bought, I have $15 more dollars left to spend. Time to get another $100 worth of amazon cash!

I really liked "The Mermaid Chair" - I think mostly because I took it to Hilton Head one summer and read it on the beach or looking out over the marsh from the balcony of my villa. I think reading it where it was supposed to have taken place made it more interesting. It was not nearly the same emotional impact of "Bees" though, and it wasn't as good a story. All that icky stuff...ewww.

I hope she will come out with a new book that I love as much as "Bees."

Hahahaha!! Now we've got you!!!!

I read much faster on the Kindle, and others on the Amazon forums have reported the same thing. I can fly through a book anyway, but I really get some pages read on the Kindle in a hurry. Not that I am missing anything - it just seems to make it easier to keep moving over the text when all you have to do to have a whole new page in front of you is click the Next Page button.

I have spent some cash on the Kindle, too - but since I am not going to Barnes & Noble every few weeks and coming out with an armful of new hardbacks, I still think I am ahead of the game. Of course, that was before DD15 inherited my old Kindle - she can read a book in no time flat and I now have a whole series of various "vampyre" titles available if I so choose to read them!!
