What Are You Reading Right Now?

I've been on a bit of a vampire binge lately...I just finished Midnight Mass by F.Paul Wilson, and just started Underland by Mick Farren. Midnight Mass is a little closer to the traditional vampire story, with a bit of a twist thrown in for good measure, while Underland appears to be an espionage based story with some not so traditional vampire fare put in with it (I'm only 89 pages into the 450 page total, so still getting to the meat of the story).

Pandora's Daughter.

I just finished that!! It was great. Megan's in the new paperbook out now called QuickSand. Somehow I missed Blind Alley so thats what I'm reading now. I'm calling the library and putting Dark Summer on hold when they get it back into the library. I'll have to see if they have Silent Thunder too, Iris wrote it with her son, Roy.

I was on the lsit at the library for SIlent Thunder but refused it when it was my turn (too much going on), maybe I'lll re request it along with Dark Summer.

I called this afternoon and they said Dark Summer was not and had not been checked out this week. So after work I stopped in and the lady apologized and said she had left a msg on my anwering machine that it was not checked out but they can't find it! :confused3 They are hoping it just wasn't scanned when someone checked it out but they really don't know if it was stolen or just missed being scanned upon checkout.

I just finished 2 books today, Glenn Beck's The Christmas Sweater, and Jennifer Cheavarini (sp?)'s last Elm Creek Quilters book.

Highly recommend both. Glenn's book is a fairly quick read. I finished it in 2 sittings. Would have been one but had to go feed the baby, ya know :)

Has a new thread been opened or is this still the current one.

Either way...

I'm reading This Year I Will... by MJ Ryan.
EXCELLENT read for anyone looking to make a change. Any change!

So many of you have said that you like to read Jodi Picoult's work. So, I picked up The Tenth Circle and I must say that I enjoyed it very much. It has given me a desire to pick up Dante's Divine Comedy. I have Nineteen Minutes that I'm going to start, hopefully tomorrow since Christmas is finally put away.

I am reading Mercy by Jodi Picoult. I am actually enjoying it very much. The last few books I read of hers were just so-so for me, so I was a little leery, but I really like this one.

Before this one I read Middlesex. It was pretty good. A little slow in places & a completely different read than what I'm used to, but it was worth reading.

I am not really into much of what she writes, though she does seem to be a fantastic writer. However, I was completely sucked into Nineteen Minutes. Totally compelling story.

Make sure you have nothing else you have to do once you start Nineteen Minutes! My Sister's Keeper is a good one too.

I loved My Sister's Keeper. I have to say I cried like a baby at the end. I have also read Nineteen Minutes and A Perfect Match by Jodi Picoult. I really enjoyed Nineteen Minutes alot, but A Perfect Match was just so-so for me. Maybe I'll try Mercy next.

I just finished "Audition", Barbara Walter's memoir. I think I am going to read "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer next.

I'm almost finished The Host, and have really enjoyed it so far. I've got The Pagan Stone by Nora Roberts as my next book

Wasn't sure if you knew or not but that is the 3rd book in the Sign of Seven Trilogy. If you read the other two it will make more sense.

1. Blood Brothers
2. The Hallow
3. The Pagan Stone

They were all very good. Hope you enjoy it. :thumbsup2

OK, I have a few books here some for work (school) and some for fun:

The Giver - Lois Lowry
Devil's Arithmetic- Jane Yolen
What do fish have to do with anything? - Avi

I have three fiction books that I am not loving. One is about a family moving to Washington DC during 1976. The character development is fairly weak and is getting sort of boring. The story has potential but the weak characters are driving me crazy.

I did, but thanks for the heads up all the same! I read the first two in the summer, but had to wait for this one.

IF you enjoy those there is a series by Heather Graham that I just finished, the Flynn Brothers trilogy. One book came out for each of the past three months, all have the word "Deadly" in the title. Really good, slight supernatural overtones to each one. ;)
