I just finished Into The Wild by John Krakauer. It was good, sad but good. I am also almost finished Judge & Jury by James Patterson. This one is excellent!

"Dereliction of Duty: Johnson, McNamara, The Joint Chiefs of Staff and the lies that led to Vietnam" by H.R. McMaster

How is Wedding in December so far? I have the book but have not read it or heard much about

I stopped in the middle b/c it was a slow read for me, I will pick it back up when I am done Jodi Picoult

My first Picoult was also My Sister's Keeper, did you know they are making it into a movie?

Mine was also My sisters keeper, had NO idea they were making it into a movie, I just finished The perfect Match, I read that Patrick from this book is in Nineteen minutes, I am almost done Harvesting the Heart, I also read the one about the Amish people and the baby that was born and found dead shortly after it was born, I think it may have been Plain Truth???? She is a GREAT author

Yes, he is one of the cops/detectives in Nineteen Minutes.

Is this the Plum series? I could not get into them:(
Not a huge Plum fan either.

I enjoyed the first couple of this series, but then I got tired of it. She has a new one out, but I don't think it is part of this series.

Now it's back to The Terror by Dan Simmons.

How far are you in The Terror? I am about 200 pages, but set it aside for something else. I don't want to completely give up on it becuase I do like the whole idea of the story. I am reading The Appeal instead. I am enjoying it.

Play Dirty by Sandra Brown

I am in the middle of A Marked Man by Stella Cameron.
Can't wait to finish it. I don't really care for the writing and I am only working my way thru it so I know what happens. :headache:

I'm reading Picture Perfect by Jodi Picoult. Pretty good so far, but it's not "flowing" as quickly in the beginning like her other books do.

I just finished Congo by Michael Crighton. It's an old book, but I haven't read it until now. I haven't seen the movie either, and now I want to see the movie.

I just started My Enemy's Cradle by Sara Young. I'm enjoying the book so far.

Let me first preface this and say that I have been reading books that are on major "classic" reading lists for about 3 years now. The one I am reading now is a book I do not enjoy, but I felt I should read.

I am reading Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe ... and I hate it. I mean it is antislavery, but the stereotypes are just too much. ugh

I am actually starting to read another book on entrepreneurship, too. I read more non fiction than anything else.

I'm headed down to Disney tomorrow & have this in my suitcase for my next read. I'm hoping I like it.

When Grief Breaks Your Heart--James W Moore

I'm reading Water for Elephants but I'm having a hard time getting into it. :confused3 It seems to be going very slowly for me. I'm also re-reading Twilight which I love. Next up is something light and fluffy. Maybe a Janet Evanovich book.

I am reading Metro Gril now by Janet Evanovich and I just finished Motor Mouth. I read them out of order.

Anyways Motor Mouth was so funny and a good read. :thumbsup2

I wish I would have read them in the correct order but oh well.

Duma Key, Stephen King's newest. So far, it's really creepy...and I'm loving it.

Try reading "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl" which is an autobiography but covers some of the same things as Uncle Tom's Cabin in a more realistic way. Uncle Tom's Cabin is a tough tough read. I have read it for Lit classes and history classes and it just does not get any easier. I have found it helps to continuously remind yourself that when Stowe wrote Uncle Tom's Cabin the stereotypes were considered truths by most people and she uses them solely for shock value.

My students just read Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl.

I am reading Into the Wild, and Trace Adkin's book A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck , which my DH bought me for Valentines Day.
