for Christmas? MIne are always so hard! ANd we can't spend a TON of money ($100 or so!) Looking for all kinds of ideas----they don't drink or anything!

i give them gift cert to a restaurant. They are hard to buy for. dad frequently returns things. But I know they'll like a nice dinner out.

We are taking them to the Candlelight processional and Behind the Seeds Tour at Epcot. They will be staying with at SSR .

I've slowly started moving onto more practical gifts as opposed to the pjs that I always ask for. Anyway, gift certificates are good...do they like to go to movies, or a play you get tickets for? Or their favorite restaurant...a hotel for an evening if they like to get away?

We usually give my in-laws a gift certificate for a restaurant. They enjoy eating out, and are on a fixed income, so can't as often as they'd like.

My dad is no longer with us, but my mom I give any number of things, usually some sort of gift basket. She likes the ones from Godiva that have not jsut candy, but cocoa, coffee, cookies, etc. as well. A couple years ago I got her one from a place in Vermont that had a Yankee Candle, bag of pancake mix, syrup, maple candy, a Farmers Almanac, Burt's Bee's products, etc. Basically a gift basket of things she'll enjoy but would never buy for herself.

Dad's getting a Mustang (the car-he's a fanatic) t-shirt, maybe a polo from his alma mater, and mom's getting a boiled wool jacket and some Stuart Nye earrings. They're both getting a picture book I made on epublisher and a toaster (theirs is horrible and we got 3 for the wedding-they know they're getting one as a regift). I'll probably also get them a bathroom scale because they like ours so much (it's one of the glass ones).

I've ordered a couple of large-print books for my Mom & will get her a couple of CD's that I think she'll like. I only want my boys to not spend too much on DH & I - a thoughtful gift - something that we wouldn't buy for ourselves, but would enjoy. Wish I could come up with some suggestions - but then, it wouldn't be something they thought up on their own, then would it?

I got my mom a handmade clay bird house up in the mountains and I canned three quarts of my delicious homemade vegetable beef soup, which she would never make for herself. She is a widow and never cooks anymore, so i may send her a gift basket with fruit and some cookies also. BEyond that, i am cluless. :confused3

My Father in law is getting cash. That is what he wants and he is on a fixed income. My MIL likes presents, usually a sweater from Talbots, her favorite store. My grown children always get DH and I a gift certificate to a very expensive restaurant that we love. With their combined gift, we get to eat there once a year and it is fabulous!

I have no ideas for my mom. My dad is getting a balsam table top tree from either Land's End or LL Bean. My stepmother is getting a yankee candle and shade.

My parents have everything they want and need so I am buying them a small present (book for dad, candles for mum) and then buying things for needy third world children on their behalf - I think I have ordered school desks and stationery this time - from Worldvision.com My parents get a personalised card telling them what I have given on their behalf.

We are giving my dad a few different restaurant gift cards. He's on a fixed income and enjoys eating out, so this is perfect for him.

We are giving my father-in-law practical things, because he doesn't enjoy eating out or shopping, so gift cards aren't for him. He's getting sheets, towels, a shirt, and a cheese and sausage basket.

We are giving my mother-in-law and her husband a blanket. Because it would be rude to just forget her on the holidays the way she does her son and granddaughter, and I don't know her well enough to know what else to get her.

We are giving both sets of parents 12 ready made meals from My Girlfriends Kitchen since my parents are in not great health and my inlaws both work full time and she hates to figure out what to eat. This way they can choose from the menu and we'll go make them and give them the meals on xmas day. They will know what they are getting but they are cool with knowing. They all have everything they want or need so this is something that they wouldn't do for themselves.

My mom's getting a roomba so that she doesn't have to lug the vacuum around anymore. Not quite sure about the MIL. Last year we got her candies from when she was a kid. She was thrilled. The year before that it was a pamper yourself gift with bubble bath, romance novels, warm socks, and truffles.

luggage and more minutes for their cell phone

We are giving my mom a new gameboy-she has worn hers out.We are getting my dad a new wallet with a giftcard in it.My FIL and MIL will be getting giftcards to the Harley store-their new passion.

We're giving my mother a plane ticket to Maine to visit my sister and spending money. My boys are giving her a certificate for a day at the spa.

She'll enjoy both.
