We are going to our best friends house for dinner Friday night and exchanging gifts. They always give our kids a gift and get give their kids a gifts...those are pretty easy to figure out. But I am at a loss as what to give them this year. I have done candles, wine, food, etc...

They are married in their 40's, like us...any ideas? Budget would be around $20 - $30ish. :goodvibes

All our gifts this year are a donation to charity in their name.

We don't do gifts with friends...it's just too much. I would bring a bottle of wine or a food type hostess gift when going to someone's house, but other than that, no gifts. We don't even do gifts for the adults in our family beyond our grab bag. It makes life so much easier. ;)

We don't do a formal gift exchange with our friends but when we visit for the holidays I do like to bring something, like a candle for her, and a unique bottle of liquor for him. One year we brought a bottle of wine and wine glasses with their initial on them.

Movie Night?

Popcorn, Soft Drinks, "Movie" Candy, & Movie all put together in a popcorn bucket?

Game Night?

Same as above except a board or card game instead of the movie

A pretty throw or blanket?

Are they coffee drinkers? Some good coffee? Or K-cups? Or a basket w/ some a variety of hot drinks - coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider, & maybe even some marshmallows & candy canes?

A nice plant - a Christmas cactus? Or a poinsettia?

Besides the usual wine, candle - I have seen some nice candy, chocolate or cookie trays/packages.

movie theatre gift card!! I would love that as a gift for hubby and me, date night :-)

How about a gift card for $30 to a local restaurant for a parents night out? Something like Cheesecake Factory, Applebees, Fridays, etc.

We are doing specialty Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar basket. Not terrible expensive and something most people (ok all of our friends) enjoy
