What are you getting your Teen DS's this Christmas?

Where do u buy the axe gift sets? This is the 1st year I hear my son talking about it

Almost anywhere. Target has good prices on them but they can be purchased at drugstores and supermarkets as well.

I always get them for my older DSs and I think I will buy one for DS 11 this year as well.

Check Target coupons and the new Target cartwheel app as the holiday shopping nears my guess is that they will be discounted.

We got ds11 an xbox(not the new model) I need some ideas on some games that are not rated M. What should I know about xbox? What extras do I need? Xbox live, what is that? Anyone ever done game fly?

Xbox live allows then to play online with friends(strangers as well) and they can also watch a limited number of television stations with it. Deals for Xbox live can be found on occasion at Target, Groupon sometimes features the one year subscription.

For older games I would look at the used games at Gamestop. DS 11 never got into Skylanders but really enjoyed Lego Harry Potter.

Oldest wants a Wii U.

Last year we got an XBox 360, a few games, and a Knect. He never uses it. We got the Xbox 360 free from Dell for ordering a computer. We will be selling it this year.

I know all 3 want Steam money as they play more computer games than anything else.

Not sure beyond that. They have flip phones and I have asked if they want a smart phone. They don't.

I'm a girl & can't help you much here but just wanted to say that the UofA gift is a GREAT idea ;) go wildcats!

We love the UofA! Born and raised in Tucson, Dh and I both went to the UofA and grew up watching/cheering for UofA. Ds's room is decorated with UofA stuff. Go cats!

My boys are so low maintenance, I hardly buy them anything all year, so I splurge at Christmas. My DS20 missed our summer vac to WDW because he made a decision to accept an RA position at school instead. So for Christmas we, um Santa is sending him to WDW in January.

this year possibly yellow slippers) .

Can you get him the Mickey slippers they sell at WDW to go with your theme!?!

:)

DS 14 is a musician and wants a cajon box.

He and his sister are getting a flat screen tv for the rec room.

He will get video games, itunes and nook gift cards and some clothes.

He needs a new tennis raquet but one of the grandparents will probably get that.

Ds#1 is getting a new gaming mouse and head set for his laptop, gift cards, video games. He is in marching band and wants to do drum core next summer so that's his big gift.

Ds#2 is getting hockey tickets and two new blues shirts. Plus infinity stuff. He is also getting a Disney trip two weeks before Christmas.

My kids basically pick whatever they want for Christmas as long as they stay within the budget. This year their budget is $350 each.

I think DD wants some new roller skates and a few pair of novelty character Chuck Taylor shoes.

I do believe DS may also want some roller skates and a few PS3 games.

He wants the new PS4 but that is not happening.

We always open presents on Xmas eve. We have never waited until Xmas morning because day time just doesn't feel like Xmas to me. And that is how my mom always did it with us.

So I will give them all the presents they picked for themselves Xmas eve but I will also have a few little extra surprises that they didn't ask for just so they can open some things and not know what they are. But being teens it is very hard to buy anything they like or is useful for cheap.

They already both have laptops, phones and Ipod touch so they don't need any electronics.

I always fill their stocking full of different kinds of candy. They know not to expect anything cool in the stocking. But I don't buy and keep candy in the house so on "candy" holidays I buy them candy.

My oldest son wants a hunting rifle for Christmas and he is 28 so I usually buy his gift or give him money weeks before Christmas.

That isn't a bad idea for my oldest DS who is 17! I may say this is your budget buy what you want!

I'd really like to buy my DS something that isn't electronics, games or clothes... he already spends too much time playing games and he wears a uniform, so doesn't have much use for a lot of clothes.

I like the idea of "experiences"... movie tickets, concert tickets, that sort of thing...

Maybe I should just let my husband figure out what to get him. :)

Family giftscthis year are season passes to our local amusement/waterpark and a new Xbox 360 with kinnect since ours broke plus a couple new games for it. All the kids will be getting cash, pjs and an ornament aand some stuff off their lists. For DS13 the list gifts will probably be:
dumbells
zombieland dvd
zombie rubber ducks
PC game
Phone accessories (earbuds, phone stand, maybe a case)

My ds turned 16 earlier this month and is so hard to buy for.

We ended up getting him concert tickets to Imagine Dragons - his favorite band. Xbox live 12 month membership, 2 xbox games, a movie and itunes gift cards.

Oh good... I was just about to start this thread! My girls are easy to buy for, but my 15 year old son is tough!

I got each of the kids a single share of Disney stock. And I got each of them a rolling duffle for next summers's WDW trip. I'm planning to get tickets for Disney on Ice for us for January.

I got him a pair of jeans, and a pair of pajama pants.

I'm considering a 3 month subscription to http://www.broboxclub.com/ -- anyone know whether they're teen appropriate???? I've checked the archives and they seem OK. I emailed them yesterday to check-- we'll see what they say.

He's one of those kids who loves expensive sneakers. He's given me a wish list; I may pick up a pair as his big gift.

I don't want to feed into the Xbox obsession-- he spends plenty of time on that already. So other than a spare controller, that's off the table.

He reallly wants spending money-- he recently spent the last of the money he earned working over the summer. So I may come up with a cutesy way of giving him some cash.

I was also considering a subscription to Mad magazine, just for fun.

I've got to run-- I'm proctoring the SATs this morning. But I'll look forward to actually reading the other ideas on this thread!!

I've used something similar to give my boys/nephews money before. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=money+maze

As for what I'm getting my boys.....

DS18 is impossible to buy for. He doesn't give me any kind of idea whatsoever!!! I mean he works two jobs now so he buys whatever he wants, whenever.

DS16 makes a "wish list" on Amazon so it gives me an idea of what he wants. I give him a couple months to come up with it. He's one that changes his mind like crazy. So I give him until Thanksgiving day to finalize it. Then I can start ordering or going to the store to pick up what I'm getting.

Last year it was all about building his own computer. So it was computer parts, a new computer desk and computer chair. Along with some standard things (clothes, pajamas, etc) This year, he's all into camping. So his list consists of a tent, camping chair, cooking stuff, camp radio, air mattress, first aid kit, a hiking backpack, etc. He also has some small things (ear buds, flash drive, a book on how to tie knots along with some cord)

DS (turns 16 in February) has asked for new lacrosse gloves. He may also get a new blocker to match his goalie pads. He hasn't mentioned anything but the gloves, so I'm kind of stumped! Probably some fleece pj bottoms.

I did get him an Agent P pez thing for his stocking! He will definitely get new underwear and socks - it's an every year thing.

My kids have not asked for much, and they usually have a list by now.

They both play lacrosse, so one wants a new head for his defense stick, and the other wants a VERY nice pair of gloves. I will have to search online for those (they are about $200 in store, so I think I can find them cheaper online). They love Flow Society shorts, so I will have them find a few pairs each that they like and will get some of them. If you don't know what they are, do a search of them-they are CRAZY!

They both asked for laptops, they may get one to share, we haven't decided yet.

My 11 year old plays guitar, so I will be getting him picks, two wall hanger for his new guitars, a fender t-shirt. Still looking for more ideas

My 14 year old runs cross country and he needs a watch with a lap function, so I need to find one for him.

I have stocking stuffers, candy and small toys.

I have some sleds for them already, but I am not sure what else I will get them.

We usually try to get a family gift, but have no plans for one this year, last year was 50" living room tv, then they inherited the smaller, 42" one for their room.

My 13 year old finally came up with something, he wants a 5th generation ipod touch. He got a 4th gen one last year and up until this weekend was perfectly happy with it. Apparently because he can't upgrade to IOS7 he can't get some of his apps to update
He hasn't really asked for anything else so I'm going to just get him that.

I saw on think geek a guitar pick maker. It can cut picks out of old gift cards, looks really cool. I'd get it for my dh but he was a ton of picks already.

My DS is 15 and we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas (but just a little)- he is getting:

Hannukah:

A Top Gear - "I am the STIG" T-shirt that is being mailed from England at a cost of 13.99 shipping! It was the only place to get one. He is a big fan.
Dr. Who: The Vault: Treasures from the First 50 Years Book
Mario World 3D for the Wii U
I still need some small gifts and saw the lottery ticket idea. I think I'll throw that in with some candy, etc.

Christmas: kids usually only get one gift and a stocking with small things

Dr. Who Tardis Mini-Fridge for his room (it has sound effect and a flashing light on top!) He's going to love this one :)

Great minds think alike - was just going to suggest the same thing!

http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/e91b/?pfm=Search&t=diy guitar pick punch

I got one for my guitar-crazy son a couple of years ago, and it's still a hit. He was able to take old KTTW cards, Quartermasters arcade cards off the Magic, any cool used-up gift cards he had, and make his own picks that mean something to him. You can center the card you're using however you like, so you can zoom in on just the part of it you want for the pick. I totally recommend it! ::yes::
