What are you getting your DH?

I split on a set of golf irons for my DH with my parents this year. He insists that this be his only gift but I can't have him not open anything on Christmas morning so Ally (our dog) bought him Avatar (the extended version on Blu-Ray) and Santa bought him a Phiten titanium bracelet. That way, he can't get mad at me (since I didn't buy him anything else).

I'm struggling with thiswe are on a tighter budget this year so that makes it even harder.

So far I'm planning
Wheel of Time Book (have)
Chiefs Slippers (have)
52 oz Bubba Keg (need to get)
new Marines baseball hat (need to get)
Small GC for Great Wolf Lodge to upgrade his magiquest wand since he plays with the kids and we will be there Christmas weekend. (need to get)
Roll of quarters for the Great Wolf Arcade (need to get sorta)

Possibly a pen holder that looks like a little dead body  that you stab with your pen (morbid I know but I think he will totally laugh when he sees it and he's always loosing pens)

The new Barefoot Contessa Cookbook (he loves cookbooks), a tie, a fleece jacket to replace the one I hate, and I don't know what else. And I need to stuff his stocking...usually snacks, handi-bac from Bath and Bodyworks, eyeglass cleaning supplies, lifesavers...stuff he keeps in his desk at the office.

Whatever is on his Amazon want list that adds up to our pre-arranged total for each other.

I usually give him a week's warning so that he makes sure what he wants is on that list and he has to make sure there is a LOT to choose from.

I got my DH an air compressor that was on sale at Home Depot on Black Friday. I also got him a set of pots and pans because he DARED to get this for me one Christmas years ago!
I fill his stocking with lottery tickets and gift cards to food places because he is an UPS driver and is on the road all day and won't eat.

I'm getting dh a new cell phone, a couple books he asked for, a couple Xbox games, a North Face jacket or a stand for his dumbbells, and I'll fill his stocking with socks, razors, and dark chocolate candy.

My husband is into hunting so I got him some bullets and some type of holder to put on his rifle, jeans, a movie, a new little Maglite, and sweat pants. We aren't spend as much this year.

Nothing! We don't exchange gifts.

And it will be especially true this year with money being extra tight. I would rather use it for the kids.

This year I told DH we will not exchange gifts. I'll be done with my cc debit at the end of Dec so I really dont wanna get myself into more debit right now.

Plus we both really dont need anything.

Big gift is a new chain for his cross necklace I bought him 15 years ago. He wears it every day and the chain is completely worn out. I was thrilled with the deal I got (the price of gold is ), especially when I sold the old chain and got another $100 off. Woo Hoo!
Other than that, starbucks gift card, logans gift card, mens grooming razor (cheap and more of a gag gift than anything else), golf tees, socks, and I'm making him beef jerkey and raisin bars.
I'm putting everything in a stocking so he won't be expecting the necklace.

DH & I just bought a new Weber grill on clearance at Lowes, and we did a lot of landscaping in our backyard. We've agreed that this will be our Christmas gifts to each other this year.

BUT, I do have a surprise up my sleeve. DH's birthday is in January, and he will be 40 next year. I have tickets for us to see U2 in Nashville in July. U2 is his all-time favorite band. DH's b'day usually gets a bit overshadowed by the fact we've just celebrated Christmas, so I wanted his 40th to be extra special. Keeping this a surprise is killing me!!!!

OMG I love that idea! :rotfl: Because we promised each other to do a weird thing where we only get each other 5 gifts and spend around $300ish. BUT I got him a grill, an electric razor, a hat, those gloves that allow you to use your iphone while wearing them, cologne and slippers. So technically 6 gifts. Maybe it could be a joint gift from our cats!

Dh's santa present is a 16gb ipad with 3g along with screen protector, and a book type holder. From the kids he's getting a Dallas cowboys shirt, and houseshoes and some other small things for his stocking.

DH and I got a Keurig for our big present to ourselves (40% off on Saturday at Macys!). He's also getting a couple of Xbox games, a new knife set (20% off at Bed Bath and Beyond), the Munchkin board game, a new hoodie, some green tea for the Keurig, and... I think that's it. I need to get a couple little things for his stocking still.

Dh and my birthday are both in December. Mine is the 1st and I already know he and the kids got me a Kindle  They told me last night because it will be delivered and I'll get home before him.

DH birthday is the 24th and I ordered him some new Johnston and Murphy shoes I knew he wanted. I found a really good deal on Amazon yesterday and was able to get two pair for about $175 instead of $250. So he'll get both for his birthday instead of one for birthday and one for Christmas.

Now I just need an idea for Christmas. He's so hard to shop for. He's pretty picky when it comes to clothes and shoes. I only know the ones I got will work because he showed them to me.

I'm sure he would love a new TV for the living room but that's not a purchase I would ever make on my own without consulting him. We got him a bluray player last year. He doesn't really play video games or read so games or books are out. It's just so frustrating!

Dh is getting:
Deadliest Catch seasons 1-6
Xbox 360 Splinter Cell
Xbox 360 Call of Duty Black Ops
Smoked Salmon
David Attenborough- Life on DVD

And I still need to pick up Marty Stouffer's Wild America for his stocking and some Pixies. We have regular antenna tv so we watch alot of series at night when nothing else is on.

Buyer Beware!! Do not buy your DH Call of Duty, you will never see him/spend time with him if you do. Well unless thats what your after :lmao:

But seriously, that game is so addicting, my DH is playing it right now, and incase its not bad enough that they play it all the time all hours of the night, the players also talk and scream at each other over their microphones. We have a daughter due in January and I have not even been able to pull him away to set up the nursery :sad2: guess the baby will be sleeping in the bed and he will be sleeping on the couch.

Mine is getting the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft and 'The Shattering', a novel based on the events happening now in the game. My DH is really hard to shop for so I'm glad he plays games...otherwise he'd probably get socks :rotfl2:.

My DH's life it WoW so I am glad to hear about this novel. thanks
