For deals, I have found that I use skyauction.com and I know a few people who have used Redtag.ca

I have also used travelocity.ca for flights and I have used Hotwire for Hotels.

What are your favourite sites for last minute deals?

:teacher: Teach us something new.

believe it or not, I like aircanadavacations.com. I did a comparison with travelocity.ca, orbitz and some other online places and air canada vacations always had the best deals. Better than the other sites but I do agree with you that hotwire is good for hotels!

CAA gives me the discounts I like.

Air Canada Vacations yikes! Really?
I use them last, 99.9% of the time...

For air..I always look at www.kayak.com
I put in from Buf to wherever I want...then compare using Toronto. Often, as it did earlier today, Toronto is cheaper? Go figure that one. :confused3

For hotels, we use Priceline.com. A recent deal that we took advantage of was $125 per night at the Westin Maui. We also use VRBO.com. We just booked a junior suite at the MGM Signature in Las Vegas for $143 per night (includes taxes, housekeeping fees, and resort fees).

For airfares, we always use the airlines' websites. I seem to catch some very good airfares that way, and also we fly out of Seattle, WA. Great deals I got have been $330pp return from Seattle to Maui on Hawaiian, $226pp return from Seattle to Las Vegas on AlaskaAir, and $331pp return from Vancouver to Hong Kong on Oasis.

I have had good luck w/Priceline too. Used them many times for NYC and this past fall for London-England.

I just saw the MGM-Signature on Westjet Vacations site..$529 pp..4 nights/incl air. I find with many of the sites, WJ included, they fluctuate up and down all the time. I often go back 3-4 times and it's different all the time?:confused3

I get the weekly news via emails from Airfare Watchdog, they show you various airports, and from Sidestep, which has merged with kayak. Thanks for the info everyone!

Will def. look into West Jet.

Let me guess - on Sunwing? I've been watching their prices lately. Very comparable to flying from Buffalo. I might try them next time and save myself an hour in driving.

I flew Westjet and Air Transat in December to Orlando and back. Paid $400 r/t between the 2 airlines and took the TTC to the airport and back ($2.75 each way).

So to stay on topic of the thread...
www.flysunwing.ca

I always look at kayak for flights - then for cruises we've had good luck at www.vacationstogo.com - have a great guy we've booked our last 2 cruises with through them.

I've all but given up with Air Canada out of Ottawa...

I always check http://www.kayak.com but 99% of the time just end up booking with WestJet.

For international trips out of Ottawa, I always price compare Expedia, Travelocity, Kayak with http://www.flyzoom.com

hahah yikes? I know, I was surprised too but there was almost a $2000 savings to Hawaii

I like sidestep.com because it searches ALL the sites you mentioned, and more, at once! I have found some good hotel deals on there!

I use skyauction, kayak, sidestep, hotelkingom. Sometimes just for giggles I check aircanada and westjet, and then after I stop laughing I go to jetblue and book my flights from Syracuse for roughly half the cost.

I used www.rentalcarmomma.com last time for our rental. Got a great deal with thrifty, but it was not as convenient waiting for the shuttle to take us to the rental outlet. I think I saved $40 or so, but not sure I would rent from thrify again. Alamo & Dollar were very convenient and easy at the airport.

Thanks all !!!! :goodvibes

I just signed up with airfare watchdog. It's fantastic....there was a fare today for my trip...it was even the price I wanted.....only problem....not available:headache:

At least it gave me hope of finding something in the price range that I want.

We live in Ottawa and we always fly from Syracuse, we just booked with JetBlue for May 2008 and got tickets for 240.00 taxes included each person, you will never get that flying from Ottawa and plus it is a direct flight.

skyauction is awesome. Aso like costo.com (USA version not .ca)

A friend of mine just booked there family trip to disney. She said she checked everywhere and compared prices and said nobody came close to westjet.

OH I LOVE this thread!!! I always use Orbitz cause I find their prices to be better then Travelocity and Expedia. But now there are other sites mentioned here that I never heard of before but am excited to check out.
