Me and my sister are going in june by ourselves. We have limited money (we're college students, need I say more?) so we are eating only counter service, which is a bummer. But we'll make do.

We are going for 4 days and are spending 2 days in Magic Kingdom, 1 in EPCOT, 1 in MGM (btw im never going to not call it that).

We plan on eating lunch and dinner at the parks.

What counter service restaurants do you recommend??

Here's my favorites...

MK - Columbia Harbour House (especially tuna sandwich and galley salad
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (good variety and great desserts)
MGM ;) - The only place we eat CS here is Backlot Express (I usually have the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich w/roasted red peppers)

If you're at DTD go to Wolfgang Puck Express, it's THE best CS on all the world...at least in my opinion... :goodvibes

Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills in the MK. Others speak highly of El Pirata y el Perico but I haven't tried it. It's seasonal but should be open in June. In Epcot Sunshine Seasons has a wide variety of food that is a better selection than you normally get. Some others in the world showcase would be Boulangerie Patisserie, Yakitori House, Yorkshire County Fish Shop and Tangerine Cafe. Look at the menus online to see which one has items that you may like. In MGM maybe Studio Catering or Backlot Express. I'm not too enthusiastic about any of the counter service places there.

My college daughter is what we call a chickatarian (no beef) and her favorite counter-service restaurants at MK are Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Rays (where a counter guy just happened to be a magician and performed a private magical show for her). At Epcot she likes Mexico and the Fish and Chips place at England. Funnel cakes in America are a must. Toy Story Pizza Planet and Backlot Express work for MGM, and the grapefruit cake is a family favorite at Starring Rolls. Her favorite restaurant is in her favorite park: Flame Tree Barbeque at Animal Kingdom! Too bad you don't have plans to visit that park this time! Don't worry about not having TS $ during your trip. You'll have a great time without the sit-downs. If you wind up in DTD, I recommend you try the Earl of Sandwich. It really is reasonable for what you get.

Are favorite is Earl Of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. Ever time we leave WDW we crave for it again !

Our favorites:
Magic Kingdom -- Columbia Harbor House, Pinocchio Village Haus and Pecos Bills

Epcot -- Sunshine Seasons, Harry Ramsden's Yorkshire County Fish Shop, Liberty Inn

Hollywood Studios -- unfortunately, we don't have a favorite -- none of them are very good as far as we are concerned. If we had to choose, we would select Backlot Express

MK-Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's
EPCOT-Yakitori House in Japan or Fish and Chips in UK
MGM-Nothing we like there

MK = Columbia Harbor House
DHS = Backlot Express
Epcot = Fish and Chips (England) or just eat dessert in France!!

Have to agree with earlier posting that Wolfgang Puck Express is an A+

Here are my Favs:

MGM: They all stink. I used to like Starring Rolls for their sandwiches at lunch but last year they did not have them when we were there. Hopefully they come back.

AK: Definitely Flame tree BBQ

Epcot: I say go to World Showcase and try what country sounds the best to you

MK: Cosmic Ray's (for sure) Pecos Bill's (only because it has the best fixins bar around)

My favorite counter service is Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney.

Mk- Peco Bill's & Cosmic Rays

EPCOT- Yorkshire Fish n chips, The cantina in Mexico & the cafe in Morocco

AK- Flame Tree BBQ

MGM- (yes I too will forever call it that) nothing in particular...I guess Backlot express or if you are staying on property I say go back to the hotel for a break and grab some chow there!

DTD- Earl of snadwich and Wolfgang express.

Woo hoo! My two cents! :cool1:

MK - Columbia Harbour House and Pecos Bills

Epcot - Tangerine Cafe (don't be frightened, it's fab I swear) and Sunshine Seasons

HS (is that going to be the abreviation now? :sad2: ) - just plan on getting the boat over to Beaches and Cream (if you don't mind pizza, that Toy Story place wouldn't be terrible)

DTD - Earl of Sandwhich

And there's always rave reviews of Pop's food court. I've never been there though.

As a fellow starving student I hope these suggestions help! :hippie:

EPCOT -- The Fish and Chips in the "England" World Showcase. Hands down our favorite.

MGM -- We like Pizza Planet or BackLot Express

Magic Kingdom -- the Figaro Fry place in Fantasyland (next door to IASW), or the BBQ place in Adventureland.

MK - Columbia Harbour House. But you may find the meals at Cosmis Rays a better buy since the chicken dinner is huge and you girls can share.

Epcot - Yakatori House (Japan), again combo plates big enough to share.

AK - Pizzafari, I just think this place is neat, and the hot italian (now girls, that is a sandwich, not a guy!) is very tasty.

For breakfast - if you just want juice and a muffin, try Writers Stop in HS, and the place behind the Aladdin ride at MK.

Have fun!

Magic Kingdom -- Cosmic Ray's
Epcot -- Yakatori House
Hollywood Studios -- Backlot Express
Animal Kingdom -- Flametree Barbeque

Don't be bummed about not being able to eat at the TS restaurants. You will get A LOT more out of the parks by not spending so much time at restaurants. :)
