What are you doing for Mother's Day?

The women in my life always do a spa day without the men. LOL. Mother's day is pretty much the worse day to go to a restaurant (I know, my family owned a restaurant in nyc for 30 years) so we don't do that.

Maybe your DH could learn to prepare a meal that doesn't require a grill to make dinner for his mother and for you? I bet she'd love it.

ITA! Really, "men" can't cook on anything but a grill???:confused3 Time to teach your dh, this weekend, how to make a meal...without a grill;)

We are having a nice dinner at the club house at Los Alamitos Racetrack.

Yes, gentle reader, I am taking my mother (and the family) to go betting on the horses for Mother's Day.

I got my mom and I tickets to a Cleveland Indians game since she loves baseball. They had such a great deal that if you bought $50 worth of merchandise you got 2 free tickets to any game in April, May or June. So she is also getting a Grady Sizemore jersey tee. Another added bonus is they are giving away Slider Slippers to all women that day.

After the game we will probably go to my Grandma's for dinner.

We were at the game on the 18th (vs White Sox) and I SOOOO want a pair of the Slider Slippers!!!

Instead, we are having a cook out to celebrate our daughter's college graduation. I sure hope that the weather is beautiful for a baseball game and cook out in NE Ohio that day!!!

We "usually" go to both sets of Mom's houses.
I dunno what we will do this year.
One year I had meal here at the house... whew... what a lot of work that was!

I have no idea what to do about Mother's Day, and was actually wanting some advice.

I work full time (M-Th). On the Friday before, I have to go shopping and get the house ready b/c my DD's 10th bday party is on Saturday, the day before Mother's Day. My mom will be spending that day here, of course. That Saturday is the only day that would work for us to have the party- too much other stuff going on with the end of the school year.

But what about Sunday, Mother's Day itself? She lives about 30 miles away. I know that we should just go up there to see her. But I also know that the house will be disaster after the birthday party, and I'll need some time to cleanup. I have to go back to work on Monday. I can't ask her to drive down here again (she doesn't have the gas money). I also teach children's Sunday School, so I must go to church that day. Couple that with the fact that I have a bad back (seriously, I've had 2 back surgeries, and need a 3rd one for a 3rd herniated disc), I don't know what to do without either killing myself trying to make everyone happy, or hurting her feelings if we celebrate Mother's Day another day.

Anyway, what would you do? Thanks!

We will probably go golfing as usual.
