We are going to the world in September and not really celebrating anything. It will my dd first trip but that's about it. Maybe we should just be celebrating LIFE! Any ideas for something special to do for my kiddos? Maybe something sent to our room or a special cake for at dinner one night?

We are going to celebrate a new beginning for our family. Last year was really bad for us. Both my DD and I had major health scares. Plus a chem pregnancy and a miscarriage for me. So we are celebrating a fresh start and a reminder how lucky we are to have each other. Plus my parents are coming with us again. So we are grateful to have a wonderful family.

Just celebrate that you are family.

A first trip is plenty of reason to celebrate!

We've done cakes for birthdays on past trips and even though we had to reschedule our trip and are no longer going on my birthday, I'm getting an unbirthday cake anyway! The GF, YC/BC, and Boardwalk seem to have the best cake options because they've got full service bakeries, but there are options available at most of the restaurants and resorts.

Every trip I think about arranging a welcome gift for the room, but I never have yet. I always end up adding a tour or a makeover or something like that instead. Have you checked out the Disney Florist site? They have some really neat options.

We're celebrating our first trip ALONE as a family of 4 :) We've enjoyed the last few years of having friends and family with us, but it will be nice to have it be just us for once.

We're also celebrating DD(4) starting preschool, and DD(6) starting first grade!

Depending on how much money you want to spend, Disney has baskets and such that you can order for the rooms (we had one sent to us our last trip, by family, they were cute). You could also make your own, and ship it down and be sneaky and have it waiting for your daughter in the room after a swim or something fun like that (we perfected accidentally forgetting something in the room, pulling stuff out of a hiding place and onto the bed, and viola! "Tinkerbell must have visited while we were away, girls!"

Don't forget to let them know at checkin that it's your DD's first visit! They will give you a fun little pin for her to wear :) What a terrific reason to celebrate!!!

I agree...a First Trip is reason to Celebrate!

It'll be my 35th birthday...but the trip itself is all about the kids here!!!

I've planned ahead and grabbed fun small Disney items to leave on their pillows each night.

We came back a few weeks ago and we celebrated DH homecoming. He got home in March from a 16 month long deployment. We got so many perks from that. Pretty much no waiting in lines:goodvibes. they would read our buttons and some would say those who serve our country shouldn't have to wait in line. It was awesome. Our buttons said. Just home from Iraq. Mine said my husband made it home safe. The kids said we got our daddy back.

Congrats on having DH back!!! And I agree anyone who serves our country shouldn't have to wait in lines!!! Tell him thanks for us!!!:thumbsup2

We will be going in October and our trip will coincide with DH's b'day. I plan on getting him a cake. I also plan to have little toys for all the kids to open each night from the characters. I also have postcards sent to them before our trip.

If I can pull off this trip, we will be celebrating 15 years of marriage, our first family vacation with DD, and DH's first trip to WDW. And as always, celebrating my Disney additction!:flower3:

We booked Bounceback for the end of September last year thinking DD will have been in Kindergarden for a month and we could take her out by then. Well, we found out that Kindergarden starts the 3rd week of September so the brand new Kindergardeners are not overwhlemed by all the hubub of everyone else just starting back to school too, good idea, but....we had to change our trip. (note: When we booked Bounceback, they did not ask us what we were celebrating).

So I called and they asked why we are changing and I told the CM. She says "Oh that must be what you are Celebrating then?" I said yes - Faith is starting Kindergarden (I actually had not thought of it that way, but what a way to celebrate!!)

We got the itinerary email, and it says right on there - Faith is Starting Kindergarden. I cannot wait to see what the CMs say to her when she arrives. She will be blown away that they know that!!

Moral is, I think Disney wants everyone to feel special and they know that just because it is not your birthday does not mean you are not celebrating.

I also agree that a first trip is a great thing to celebrate!!

Have a magical trip!!

Amy

A bunch of things.

Our first trip as a family.
Hubby just got back from 3rd time being deployed.
While deployed he turned 30 (in Feb).
DS turned 5 in March.
I just turned 30 the beginning of APril.
DD will turn 3 in May right after we get back.
And our 6 year anniversary was in March.

We are actually going on my son's birthday this year. But if it's in the same month as one of my kids birthday's I "celebrate" it while I'm there. There are lots of great things you can do for them. You can mention that it's your first trip when you check-in and have a balloon bouquet delivered to the kids in the room with a picture of Mickey and friends that's autographed.

We're celebrating the adoption of our first child. 6 year old boy.
Congratulations!

We will be celebrating my younger dd's 4th birthday. Really, she just got lucky and has her birthday when we usually go on vacation.

We were also there when she turned 2 and I got one of the cakes at Mama Melrose. I thought it was gorgeous, she was too little to care.

Congratulations to all who are celebrating. What wonderful reasons to have a celebration. How lucky we are to be celebrating with our families! Enjoy making magical memories.:)

We're celebrating our baby's recovery from kidney failure.

That is a true reason to celebrate! I wish you all the best!

We will be down in September celebrating my birthday and hopefully the completion of my PhD! I will spend the summer writing and listening to Mouse World Radio for inspiration!!

As another PP mentioned, last year was not fun for us. So we are also celebrating new beginnings. My parents may even join us for a few days since we will be there during the F&W festival, and I can't wait for them to see my boys faces at Disney. Everyday the boys ask when we are going to "Disneyworld, SeaWorld and The Jungle(AK)"

I am counting the days!

Yeah!!!! What a wonderful thing to celebrate. I hope you have an amazing time sharing the Disney experience as a new family!

We have a lot of things to celebrate when we go. Our oldest has attained the rank of Eagle Scout (8 days prior to turning 18):yay:, as well as his graduation from high school. We will also celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. (Our honeymoon was at WDW.) Our youngest has had a rough year being in his brother's footsteps and has finally stepped out into his own. We are going to celebrate him "making it through middle school".

Thank you. It has been rough here since December, but she's finally making great strides. She had 1% kidney function, was on dialysis and the doctors were talking transplant. All of a sudden she did a 180. Shocked them all. It will be a long time for a full recovery, but I'm hoping by our trip we can say she recovered.

Good luck with your PhD and cheers to new beginnings!
