What Are You Celebrating?? Air Conditioning!! A July 2010 TR UPDATE 12/11 p24

Awesome Update Sheree! :thumbsup2 The Brown Derby looks yummy! It is on MY list of restaurants I want to try someday!!! When I told the girls about Lotso being at DHS, they said they didn't want to meet him cause He was "nasty"!! :lmao: The waiting area sure is cute though!! :goodvibes

definitely something weird going on with this website this weekend!!! Love your update! Sorcerer Mickey is one we have NEVER gotten!!! Gotta find him this weekend....I want to do the Brown Derby, but not gonna do 2 Credits.....Lotso is mean!!!! LOL...my kids would maybe skip him....Your Goofy is great!! I am on your FB page and I never saw this!! I must go back and look!!!!

Great update Sheree! :) We have had both the Cowboy and Gangster. It's neat to experience both of them.

Brown Derby sounds so neat but I don't think I could drop two TS credits there. What a neat atmosphere though!

Sorry you missed the TSM rope drop madness...or not. It was a crazy house then! I thought one of my children would be stampeded over for sure. ;)

How fun Lotso smelled like strawberries! :goodvibes

We must be opposite of you because we've always gotten the cowboy, never the gangster??? Just another excuse to keep going back to Disney. ;)

Your lunch at BD looks delicious. I definitely think the food there is better than 1TS. How about 1.5TS credits? I have had some really yummy meals there. Your dessert looks so good.

I love all the pictures of the girls. They are so cute. Even Lotso looks pretty cute although he scared me in TS3. :rotfl:

Fun update! Loved your drawing - nice job.

I had no idea there were 2 different ones for GMR. Well, actually I wouldn't know since I've only been on it once :rotfl:. Love the Goofy. Animation Studio is a must for me! I guess I need to see TS3 now.... Thanks for the update!

Yea, another week has passed!! I've been super busy at work, and super tired at home, so I've not been DISing much this week!
I will respond to the latest comments this weekend and hopefully update too. I have many things to do around the house so we'll see!!

Again, thanks for reading and being patient. This TR could last until my next trip! (No, I don't know when that will be! - Really, I don't!)

I know those feelings of being busy and tired only too well. I came home today and fell asleep for an hour. It's been a long week!

Hope your weekend is relaxing!

Thanks for the update Sheree! I haven't minded the wait, I am having trouble keeping up as it is. From reading others reports and comments it sounds like it has been a super busy couple of weeks for everybody!!!

Love the parfait at the Beach Club. So yummy! I haven't been in the solarium (except as "Flat Dee"), but it looks like such a nice serene spot to have a snack or catch up with a friend/relative.

GAWRSH- you Goofy is great! The Animation Academy was on my wish list for this trip, but unfortunately, the boys were not interested, so...

We did however go on the Great Movie Ride twice, once with the gangster which we have seen a gajillion times and we finally saw the cowboy scene. It DOES exist!

Brown Derby lunch looks yummy. We have never been there, so I appreciated hearing your review.

Look forward to an update when you are able to get to it. Have a great weekend!

Okay, so it's not a real update - but...

I have a bit of news. We have decided to postpone our Europe trip for a year. :sad1: I want to save more money because it will cost more than I really expected.

But we have booked our first DVC stay!!!! :cheer2:
We are going to drive (yup) to FL and visit SIL in Ft. Myers, and then go to WDW from 3/14- 3/18 staying in a studio at AKL (Jambo) w/ savannah view!!

Now we just have to figure out our ticket plans. Might do a 10 day no exp. Might do AP if we think we'll go back within a year. Might get one AP ... WHO KNOWS!!

I'll try to do responses today and further update soon!! Thanks for your patience!

Great day at DHS so far even if you didn't make rope drop! That is so cool that Lotso actually smells like strawberries! I loved the Brown Derby so I am glad you enjoyed your meal there. I had the Cobb Salad for my entree when we went -- it was so delicious, wasn't it? Next time we eat there I want to request a booth. :thumbsup2
Yeah, I loved that salad!! If we ever go back, I'm paying OOP and having that for my entree! The booth was nice!

Sheree, your Goofy is awesome! I'm so impressed! :goofy::worship:
Thank you, thank you very much!!

I'm so glad that you enjoyed Brown Derby!!!

I don't think it's worth 2 TS credit compared to some of the other 2 TS places but I think it's a pretty great OOP meal.
Agreed!

A wonderful DHS update!!! WOOT WOOT!! Brown Derby is so wonderful! I love eating there!!! I had the pork dish last May and it was good!!! I would gladly eat there again!!!!!

Lotso...the cutest and nicest smelling bad guy you ever met!! So deceiving LOL!!!
Oh - I know how much you love DHS and Brown Derby!!! It was good!
So true about Lotso! That movie is coming out on DVD soon - another Christmas present will be checked off the list!

Great start to your day at DHS. :goodvibes I am not always a rope drop person either ;)
I have had both the gangster and cowboy...Jen knows all about he logistics....one of them is near the front and one near the back....or something like that
Lunch looked really good. That salad is just delicious! And your drink didn't look too bad either!!
Goofy turned out great. I love doing the drawing. I can't draw for the life of me but this makes me feel like I can!! :thumbsup2

Tracy
We are usually fairly early risers, but it's the getting going that sometimes takes time!! I think rope drop is a great idea - I especially like getting the AM EMH when we can - it was great in the hot summer!
The salad and drink would have been enough for me, but on the DxDP - I had to get it ALL!!!
I sure can't draw normally, but the step-by-step instruction sure makes it seem easy.

:goodvibes

Thank you Kim!! Kudos to your girls for not liking Lotso! Maybe they'll have someone better there in the future! I enjoyed Brown Derby, but don't know if I'd use 2TS on it - OOP just for the salad would be great for me!

definitely something weird going on with this website this weekend!!! Love your update! Sorcerer Mickey is one we have NEVER gotten!!! I love Sorcerer Mickey!!! On one of my first trips, pre-kids, I just had to have a little plush of him. We had been to MGM already and seen Fantasmic. I didn't buy it there, so we spent days looking EVERYWHERE for him. Figured out you could only get him at MGM, so we had to go back for him!! Now I know - just buy it if you want it!!!
Thanks on Goofy - I surprised myself!

Great update Sheree! :) We have had both the Cowboy and Gangster. It's neat to experience both of them.
Someday, I will get the Cowboy!!! Even if I have to ask for it and wait!!

Brown Derby sounds so neat but I don't think I could drop two TS credits there. What a neat atmosphere though!
I liked it a lot - but as I and others have said - probably better to pay OOP. We only did it because we were on the DxDP and had a lot of credits to use in 4 days, so it worked out well for us to get a few 2TS meals.

Sorry you missed the TSM rope drop madness...or not. It was a crazy house then! I thought one of my children would be stampeded over for sure. ;)
I was totally cool with just going and getting the FPs.
How fun Lotso smelled like strawberries! :goodvibes

We must be opposite of you because we've always gotten the cowboy, never the gangster??? Just another excuse to keep going back to Disney. ;)
We will keep on trying, right?

Your lunch at BD looks delicious. I definitely think the food there is better than 1TS. How about 1.5TS credits? I have had some really yummy meals there. Your dessert looks so good.
I like that idea!! There are just so many other good places to eat for 1 TS!
Some are better in my opinion.
I love all the pictures of the girls. They are so cute. Even Lotso looks pretty cute although he scared me in TS3. :rotfl:
Oh, thank you! Yeah, Lotso sure is deceiving!

Thanks!

Now you know for certain!
I'd like to try drawing class again! It was fun - although Paige and Sarah were quite frustrated!
GO SEE TS3! Actually it will be out on DVD soon- I think the blu-ray is out on 11/2!

I know those feelings of being busy and tired only too well. I came home today and fell asleep for an hour. It's been a long week!

Hope your weekend is relaxing!

I did have a great weekend, thanks! Took it easy, had a nice dinner with family and on Sunday DH and I went on a date - dinner at an Italian restaurant in Mpls and saw Rock of Ages!!! It was great!
Back to the grind again!

Thanks for the update Sheree! I haven't minded the wait, I am having trouble keeping up as it is. From reading others reports and comments it sounds like it has been a super busy couple of weeks for everybody!!!

Thanks Dee! Maybe someday you'll get to go to the Animation Academy. It was fun and a free souvenir!
DH discovered the solarium and I look forward to a time when I get to stay there again and relax in there!
Dang, I have to get the cowboy someday!
As I've said, Brown Derby is cool, the food was good and all, but I'm still not sure why it's 2TS. OOP is the way to go.

Well, at least I got my responses done!! Maybe tomorrow I can get an update done!

Just for the record, I really did not know that DH would book a stay in March when I posted this. We had not discussed anything beyond canceling our Europe plans and trying to figure out what we would do with our newly acquired points. I had thought October 2011 would be our next trip! Ah, well, things change quickly around here I guess!

Congrats on booking the March trip to AKL!. You will love it! Driving...not so much, but you do what you gotta do and Fort Myers should be lovely.

I am very excited for you! :cool1:

I think you guys will do fine on the drive. It's a bit of a pain if the weather or traffic gives you trouble, but on our travels that hasn't slowed us down enough to make it a real deterrent!

Can't wait for the next installment!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! Should be a fun time to go. Is it Spring Break for the girls?

Thanks! We haven't told the girls yet, but Sarah said after I told her we were postponing Europe and might do something else, she said, don't tell me ahead of time!
Driving is something we have done a number of times and I am the worst one! The kids usually watch movies, play DS or sleep. DH loves to drive! We're hoping to catch some of the Twins Spring Training.

We've driven in winter and have had to stop for weather. I think we'll incorporate an extra day on the way down "just in case" since we're going to DH's sister's first, it won't matter if we're a day later.

Congrats on your upcoming trip! Should be a fun time to go. Is it Spring Break for the girls?
Yup, it will be spring break. DH called just to ask some questions about availability, and the CM told him it was spring break, so we might want to go ahead and book. I'm not sure how many other schools are off that early but Easter is late this year, who knows? We've never been in March before, just Dec/Jan/Feb/June/July!

Bummer about the European trip, but your first DVC stay sounds just perfect!!!

Yeah, I'm bummed about Europe, but it's still on the radar for 2012. That will give us some time to save some $$$! Got to work on the budget!
I am so psyched for the DVC! We will be in Jambo house, but there were not but a view savannah views available either. Now to plan our ticket purchase!

I have got to get going on this TR!!! All these other little things keep getting in my way! Dang job, life, kids, new trips to plan, weather... OK, weather is just CRAPPY and didn't really affect the TR, but I thought I'd throw that in there!!

Okay, this is another mini-PTR update!
I was checking to see if the March park hours were posted and discovered that we will be going during Flower and Garden!!! I'm so excited! We've never been before and really weren't sure we were going to get to Epcot this quick trip, but now we're sure!!!
Then when I was talking to DH - he said we should do a meal at the Princess Storybook at Akershus at Norway to celebrate Sarah's b-day (it's a week before we go). We did that with Paige when she turned 3 and got a cake and all. So I will be making an ADR for Akershus along with our Boma dinner that we "must have"! I have to do some planning now!! Yippee!

But I really need to get going on this TR. Someone give me a kick in the rear!!

Well I looked and looked but I couldn't find a smiley that resembles a kick in the rear... this is as close as I could get :duck: followed by a little ranting :mic:

Congrats on your trip! We've never gone during Flower and Garden either but I have seen the behind the scenes show about it on Travel channel and it looks fantastic.

Thanks! I'm getting my update together right now!

I have seen that show too! I can't believe it didn't dawn on me that it would be going on while we were there in March. DOH! We went at the end of March in 2006 and I don't think it was going on - I sure don't remember it at all.
