Hello!

I tried a TR once before and failed miserably, but this time I will succeed. And I will succeed while posting LIVE!

And yes, we are moving cross country - Minneapolis to Seattle, and then 17 days later, driving back to Minneapolis, picking up my nephews and driving to Disney. We are a little crazy like that. After Disney we're driving back to Seattle with the kids.

All the details: Staying at the BWV June 9 - 17th.
Using the DDP.
6 people are going:

One_Cat my brother, and intrepid Disneyer (also the owner of the points we use to play at Disney.) He will try anything once. He did have Gastric Bypass surgery last year, and this will be his first trip to Disney since then. Using the DDP, we are planning on him splitting some plates. It will be interesting to see how that works. Requested not very many buffets, and then promptly requested 2 ressies to be made that were both buffets...

Wendy, my sister in law. Pasta, salads, and sushi. She is a plain eater, but eats a lot and snacks. She is anti DDP, and hates reservations and planning. Does not go well with me, who MUST PLAN.

Rosebud, my mom. She is on a mainly Vegan diet, though she'll eat some fish occasionally. We do this for health, and a lot of times the fish option is easier when eating out than asking for an entirely new creation. She requested Garden Grill.

Flynn Rider - My almost 13 yo nephew. Flynn is a steak and potatoes guy. He LOVES steak, ribs and so on. He's a foodie in the making and requested fancy restaurants.

Aladdin - My other almost 13 yo nephews. Aladdin is a pasta, and plain food eater. In contrast to his brother he doesn't eat much meat. He is actually pickier though, and since he is determined to stick to adult food now, this Disney trip is going to be a challenge for him. He wanted to do character meals. Something about autographs of everyone. You'll see he's been indulged here, how many more times will they want autographs?

Myself: Heather (sorry no Disney name, how can I choose??) I am also a 90% vegetarian, mostly for health reasons. I do eat a small amount of fish here adn there, typically when we eat out. I try hard to avoid animal fats. On this trip I may slip up here and there. I'll try my best though while still having fun and enjoying the food. I am a huge foodie, love love love Disney, restaurants, and of course combining the two. I just came off of 5 years of working in restaurants as a manager, so I have a little different perspective than many. I want to eat at new, exciting places, and favor signature restaurants.

And finally our lineup so far. I have made wacko ressies this time. I am trying to get everyone's requests in and finally with my brother and sis in law not deciding, I just made them for the other 4. So they may be eating separately. Add to that all of our different ideas for dining.

9th (arrival) Open. We're thinking either Raglan Road or Fultons for lunch. Since we have to meet people after arriving to pick up tickets for the kids, we won't be in the parks till later. We also haven't booked dinner, I feel like we'll end up in Epcot, but I am not sure.

10th - Akershus for lunch. This should be AWESOME with 2 boys. Ok I wish I had a girl going too, but seriously, I can't wait to see their faces.

11th - LATE dinner scheduled for Tony's Town Square. We ate there once and really liked it. That day is a Harry Potter day, so I feel like a late dinner on main street will be really cool. There's a chance it'll get cancelled, but I booked it anyway.

12th - Les Chefs De France for lunch to see Remy. This was a kid request, one saw him last time, and the other has never let us forget the fact he didn't get to go (Flynn). So we're remedying this with this trip.

13th - Yak and Yeti for a late lunch. This is my choice. I think it looks really fun. I'm also trying for a full AK day, and it's going to be hot. I'm hoping if it's broiling Rosebud can remain in the bar for awhile with a diet coke while we finish off the park.

14th - It's time for the Hoop Dee Doo! Another kid request. This will be our 3rd time there, it's quickly turning into the must do. This time I made ressies on the balcony. It's always fun.

15th - Crystal Palace breakfast early (pre park opening, kid and One_cat request), and then that evening we're off to Artist Point for dinner. This is going to be our long Magic Kingdom day, so AP will be our cooling off time.

16th - Early dinner scheduled for Garden Grill. I wanted California Grill, but I got severely voted down by the need of autographs. We ate here the last trip, and had fun though. I just like to do new things.

So there you have it, in 5 weeks or so, we'll be finished with our move, and celebrating with the mouse, good food, and new memories.

All that driving is making me exhausted lol! Nothing better than reading a live review!

Oh, my goodness! How long does it take to drive from Seattle to WDW via Minneapolis?! Would love to read the details about your adventure!

Well, we are planning on leaving Seattle Monday the 4th, getting into Minneapolis early the 6th, and picking up the kids who are skipping the last day of school (lucky souls), and heading to St Louis that night. That will be the hardest driving day. We're planning on Thursday meandering from St Louis to Chattanooga seeing a bunch of historical things along the way, spending Friday in Atlanta with more sightseeing, and ending up in Orlando Saturday early afternoon. So it'll be 5.5 days of driving, but 2 will be light driving days.

I have a blog, and will be updating that along the way, and I'll include some here too :). Have to see if I can post images from my phone instantly.

I am still debating Saturday:

Should I schedule a late lunch or do Wolfgang Pucks Express? The plan is to get to the BWV and then head to DTD until we meet up with my brother who gets in around 3. I originally was going to schedule Raglan Road, but I keep hedging..

And then there's Saturday night. I am not sure how hungry everyone is going to be. I know the kids are going to want to go to MK, but I am thinking a ressie in Epcot might be a good idea. Especially since we're getting up early for HWS the next AM. I want to catch the last day of Star Wars Weekend.

This is a personal preference, but since you're asking for opinion...I wouldn't schedule 2 TS meals for your arrival day, especially after that long journey. You may want one "linner" type of meal sometime in the late afternoon/early evening, so as not to use up too much time dining and/or getting from 1 place to another.

Also, regarding RR. (And this is my opinion). What makes it special is the atmosphere and entertainment, not so much the food (though it's good, not really worth going out of one's way for it, I like the food better at Wolfgang Puck Express). If you want to try RR, do it at a time when they have the live band and the Irish step dancers, which I think is only at dinner...unless they have changed things. Why don't you see if you make it early enough to have lunch and grab some CS at DTD...and then dinner in a park later, if you want dinner in a park with your brother.

So the first leg of our trip is done, we made it to our new house, and over the past 2 weeks, we have managed to unpack, fight a nasty internet problem (cable company had overlooked surveying our house for cable lines despite the fact we had requested the service switch 6 weeks prior to the move, and then informed us it'd be a month to complete the lines. So we switched service and were connected 2 days later), put up a fence, outline and work on a new 4' by 24' flower garden, host a dinner party, and now I am back to planning for Disney.

I will say, this is the first time ever, I am not sure I want to leave on a WDW vacation, it's 62 degrees here every day, and I'd almost rather stay home and play with the garden. But, go we have promised, and go we will. I am sure that the Disney magic will take over.

To start us off, here are a few pictures of the new house. We leave on Monday for our return trip to MN, to pick my nephews up after school.
