What are this year's hard to find toys?

Interesting about the Leappads I didn't know they were hard to find. Guess I better add to my list. I did however know about the Monster High issue. I asked a stocker at Wal-Mart on Monday if they had any more in the back and she actually laughed.

Try Justice. There's another thread about where to find the HTF ones and a number of people have had luck at Justice. I bought Spectra and Abbey for DD the other day when the store had everything 40% off.

Thanks! I think we have a store in Corpus.

For the leap pads I have seen quite a few at local Best Buy stores. I think of Best Buy of more like a big kids store and not one I'd go to for things like Leap Frog products so maybe that's why they seem to have them in stock? I saw 3 pink and 5 green ones on the shelf tonight and they were only $99. Target is issuing a rain check for the leap pads that were on sale this week. They do expect to get more in. The rain checks are good until the end of the year at the $99 price.

Monster High Dolls Spectra, Abbey, and now Toralei =)

:scared1: oh great! The hunt is on for Toralei! I'll either cave and get her on Amazon for dd or ruthlessly search Targets-read on the net that she was realeased in the UK and Australia. Will it ever end?

Has anyone had any luck finding any leappads? I have one coming in the mail for my DD, but my cousin is having a really hard time finding a green one for her DS. I have been helping her look, but have been coming up with nothing except for resellers trying to sell them for double.

They were all out of LeapPads at my local Target and Walmart yesterday.

I did luck up and find a silly hair Lalaloopsy doll though. She was pushed way to the back of the shelf and I didn't see her until I bent down to look.

Try Best Buy stores. I still saw a few green and 2 pink ones there just yesterday.

I have been trying to help my sister find a Leap pad Explorer also. I have tried all of the local Best Buys and they are all out. Target, Walmart and Sears as well are sold out. KMart online says they have them in stock, but I don't know if I trust it! I told her to try them.

I saw several cartons of the Monster High dolls at two local Costcos (Virginia). I don't have any need for them so I didn't pay attention to which particular dolls they had. They are not available at Costco online, but if you or someone you know is near a brick-and-mortar store you may want to check.

I was in Kohl's today, and they had a display of Monster High dolls. I only have boys, so nobody is interested at my house! :confused3:lmao:

I'm not sure what part of the country those looking for the Leappad are in, but in the Northwest most of the Fred Meyer's I've been in have had plenty.

For boys, Hotwheels Wall Tracks are not easy to find. DS asked Santa for them yesterday, I had to order them site to store from Walmart. All local Walmarts, Toysrus, and Targets were out, and Toysrus and Target were out online, also. I didn't check amazon, though. --Katie

UGH- that Angry Birds game. I wanted to find it for a birthday party last weekend. I had seen it everywhere about 2 weeks before, and then when I went to look for it a few days before the party, it was gone everywhere. I finally found a Target that had them in stock about half an hour from our home.

The leappads were still all over town a week ago, but when I was out yesterday, I saw lots of people looking for them and none to be had.

I think the Moxie Girlz stuff is going to be popular. I had to go to the store to get the horses and dolls for my niece as they were sold out online.

In terms of Disney stuff, I bough DD a couple of the Animator's Collection dolls. The more popular princesses have been going in and out of stock and I think closer to Christmas they may go out of stock until January.

I'm so lucky my 3-year-old doesn't watch commercials yet. Her requests have been very easy to get as they aren't super popular toys. She mostly wants Groovy Girls and Playmobil, thankfully.

Lots of stores are hoarding popular stuff (like LeapPads) in their storerooms right now. They won't sell them, even if they have them in stock, until Black Friday.

The LeapPad Explorer is definitely one of the hot toys this year. I read back in September that is was going to be a very hard-to-find toy this Christmas. I bought one for my classroom a few weeks ago using a 40% Barnes & Noble coupon. Now I have to buy the apps for it! I have 6 of the older LeapPads and about 30 books & cartridges in my classroom that the kids love, but I need to keep up with the technology!

Toys R Us employee here. The past week, I notice the things that customers are asking for that we don't have: (except for the morning after the truck comes)
The Angry Birds building game, not the corn hole toss type game
The La La Loospie Silly hair dolls (and you would not believe how many grandma aged ladies call them Lallapalooza dolls! lol!)
Blue La La Loopsie dolls
Leap Pads
Abby Monster high dolls

Scored a leapPad Explorer today at Books A Million but had to do a little calling. Found out when their truck was due in and asked if they would put a green leapPad on hold for me. The man took my number and said that if they had one come in on the truck, he'd call. Sure enough, about 4 hours later he called and said it was waiting for me to pick it up.

They only got in two and the other one was already gone.

I agree the wall track is our hard to find toy and decided we may just bump this to our march birthday list. Other than that we are good but the kids are still little.

Spectra, Abbey, and Toralei have all been available off and on all week on Amazon. I was able to order 2 of each. They did put that limit so hopefully people won't hoard them.

Oh and Gill is out now too. Not available on Amazon yet but he is in stores. Let the madness continue!
